Last Misson

EP38 The Final Showdown

The only thing that bothers me is how Choi Seon-mi will turn out.

I pray to the Absolute that my plan will not go wrong.

I vow to believe only in my own cause and effect.

I divide the clothes.

All uniform black masks and coveralls, shoes and bags We wear both masks and black coveralls.

"It's 4 a.m., so let's get dressed and load the bombs into the trucks one by one!"

All six of us are assembled.

All of us look a little groggy.

The air is crisp in the early fall morning.

"Here are the stowaway tickets, accounts, and passwords in your names."

"I'll give you this and you can leave Korea today. This money will last you for years."

"And trust me, I'll wire your wages for today's work to this account when I'm done."

"I thought you were going to be there?"

"My staff will transfer the money for you. Using a secondary account."

Everyone exclaimed.

"Thank you. What a favor."

I'm actually confused about their names.

For convenience, I'll call them numbers 1 through 6.

Of course, I only remember their alleged crimes, in case someone overhears and writes down their names and reports them.

They don't need to be remembered.

We load quite a lot of bombs into the back of the courier vehicle.

We also rented a big dump truck, but it would be dangerous to have it in front of the tire building at dawn.

The delivery vehicle is ready.

'If I leave this house now, I won't be able to come back'

I stare at my house for a long time.

So much time has passed.

I'm glad it's gone. I load the explosives and head to the Samho Tire building.

'It's so early, there are no cars on the road.

The people behind me say nothing.

They know it's immoral.

That's how morality works.

It's not a hard and complicated standard.

We actually know both good and evil.

Good is always difficult and tiring, it's just a matter of formulating logic to rationalize evil.

I'm tired of thinking about good and evil.

I can't wait to get to the place of dahye.

The final freedom comes through self-destruction.

My heart trembles like a soldier's heart going to war.

I wonder how many minutes have passed.

We docked the car and started loading the work, and we were able to enter comfortably because we had purchased an ID card from Samho Tire Company.

"Quickly set up the toilets, the washroom, and the center downstairs. You'll take care of the washroom, the washroom, and the center."

"And now I'm issuing you a loaded gun. I'll have the detonators, of course, and you'll just have to turn them on and hide them from the captain, or in an ambush."

Chorus.

"Yes, sir!"

At that moment, Choi received a text from Sunmi.

"How is the money and video exchange working today?"

"You little ghost, where are you peeking?

Before I answer, I wait with a loaded gun. They're sure to come.

"Maybe they're smart, and they'll choose to end our business rather than kill us.

Either way, it doesn't matter. The day has begun. I reply.

"Come to the meeting, I'll show you my footage, and then we'll exchange money."

You have five hours left. Meanwhile, a great event is happening elsewhere.

"Let's kick off our Police Day celebration!"

"Everyone, please join us for the national anthem!"

The event begins. The police's vigilance is lax.

On one side, parliamentary candidates for next year's general election visit the market as a ritual.

"This is Seoul Mayor Lee Yoon-seok!"

"He's going to run for re-election next year and challenge for the presidency."

People shout for Lee Yoon-seok as if they've been brainwashed by something.

He's been involved in all kinds of corruption, but he's been clean.

He slipped through the cracks and made contradictory moves as if to mock us.

As the leader of the ruling party, he was a madman who could use crime as a means of political struggle and rallying support.

The world's most unlikable man.

A man who appealed to emotions rather than logic. I hated him.

"I'm going to fucking kill them all!"

Remember the psychopath I told you about earlier? That's the one I ordered to terrorize.

He was low-level psychotic, but physically quite healthy.

I wired him a few million dollars in an account in his name.

He said he didn't want to live anymore.

He said he needed a price for his life and that he would give it to the woman he loved.

He put a knife to Lee Yoon-seok's throat.

The longer he stalled, the better for us.

"Fucking filthy world, all you guys do is bully me, and don't we feel the same way?"

"Neither do you. I'm the only one with a good job and a good life."

The parliamentarians around me are stunned.

"Please don't do this! We'll listen to you!"

This is a man with a 60% approval rating for the next presidential candidate.

He's a real piece of work.

How he can take a news item about the mayor's visit and how he knows that these congressmen are going to be staying at this bakery and go off like this is beyond me.

"What difference does it make if I tell them?"

"You voted against turning my medication into a health insurance premium. I spend almost all of my money on medication, so this is your karma, you fucking assholes."

"Schizophrenia is hearing weird noises all day long, and having splits. Have you ever had that? You do this shit every few years."

"If you want to save the mayor of Seoul, bring me the cash, bring me the means to get out of here safely. Or you die, asshole."

"If I have any suspicions, I'll stab you. Hit your carotid artery and you're dead. Sniper or whatever."

He said he was a movie buff.

Very good smokescreen, very, very good.

At this point in the transition from a police day event to an attack on the next presidential candidate, all public security and police head to Gwangmun Market where this guy is.

Snipers are deployed and armored personnel carrier negotiators are assembled.

Our plan is to stay on track.

"Yes, Choi Seon-mi."

"I've got the money. Check it out."

"Go ahead. Today's meeting is at 12:00."

"If any of you are not on the list, I'll go public."

"Okay, we'll cooperate, just don't go public."

The next thing you know, the security team is looking good. Choi Sun-mi must have told them.

We see the situation from the ceiling through our own CCTV.

They've removed the tiles from the ceiling, climbed up, and are hanging out.

With multiple bombs. They won't have a choice.

If this gets out, the company will suffer a lot, and they're scared to death, so they call security.

Funny thing is, there was no CCTV in this building.

11:30 PM.

We were crammed into a small space, and our backs were breaking.

"Get the car ready, how's the market situation in the square?"

"It's still chaos. This guy stabbed the mayor of Seoul, a little bit. It's live and the police are all here."

"Okay. When I give the signal on my radio, I want you to come to the first floor and block the entrance."

"Okay, I'm two minutes away."

And we entered.

"Shoot!"
