Asari felt her heart pump from both excitement and anxiety. He made it worse when he went closer to her. A little inch closer and his lips would touch her cheek which was covered by her long black hair.
Removing the hair that covered her cheek, he spoke in his deep voice, "Are you still pretending to be asleep or you're up to something?"
He caressed her cheek lightly but Asari shuddered and felt as though an electric current ran down her spine. His next action stunned her rather than scaring her. He pressed his lips on her neck lightly and licked it.
This tickled her heart but he felt her body still beneath him when he sucked her neck lightly, his desires were in turmoil as he had the strong urge to bite her. Unknown to him, he had already lost the grasp on sanity.
Asari felt a pair of piercing objects sink into her flesh. She winced in pain but tried not to make it obvious as she closed her eyes. He was stunned when he felt a fresh and warm liquid run down his throat.
He immediately stopped what he was doing and rushed out of the room. Asari sighed a breath of relief, she could feel her vessels bobbing from the adrenaline rush. Most shockingly she didn't hate the feeling at all. He was quite gentle when he sucked her blood.
"Wait a minute, don't tell he's a vampire? Will he be drinking my blood? Will I die?" lots of questions roamed in her brain as she wondered. She was shocked almost to death at the sudden realization. All along she had reincarnated in a world of vampires. It felt so surreal right?
It was at that moment that the man suddenly stopped his actions as he stomped out of the room, leaving a thought filled and panicking Asari lying on the bed.
Renzo marched to his study room and immediately sat in a large office chair with his head buried in his hands. He slowly removed the hands from his face revealing a pair of dangerously red sparkling eyes. His white hair glowed brightly under the moonlight that splashed on his face through a large open window. At that moment, he resembled a blood hungry predator.
His sharply arched brows furrowed as if in pain. He moved his index finger towards his mouth and caressed his protruding pair of fangs. He bit his fingertip hard until it bled and began sucking it, calming his hunger and desire.
"Renzo wakes up, you mustn't lose yourself. Darn it how could she arouse my hidden desire for blood?" he frustratedly mumbled to himself while sucking his bleeding finger.
Renzo Savier, a wholesome hunk, a vampire, quite good at hiding his mysterious persona swore never to drink blood for a lifetime. But who would have known that his vow was soon coming to an end the moment he met her? Despite the two not knowing each other, he felt something pull him towards her like a magnetic field.
"What's this feeling?" he asked perturbed, his eyes returning to normal.
Having regained his sanity, Renzo went to his study room and buried himself in paper work. He sat behind a large-sized mahogany desk. His study was basic but well furnished with a window situated at a position where the beautiful city of Legalese could be seen.
A few open files rested on his desk haphazardly as he tried to read through them when a knock on the door interrupted his thoughts.
"Enter!" he nonchalantly replied.
"Boss, the Kazans just evaded the borderlands," conveyed a stoic man with his head bowed.
Renzo, "I see, you may leave now."
"Yes, boss," affirmed the man robotically exiting the room.
Renzo lifted his head from his work and stared into space. He casually placed his arms beneath his chin and whispered, "Well done, brother. I didn't know you were this anxious to display your claws."
He perused through some documents for a few moments before standing up to leave. When he entered his room, he found her not in bed. He didn't panic because he could sense her lingering scent.
Perhaps she was in the bathroom or maybe somewhere in the room. He headed into the bathroom to freshen up. A couple of minutes later, he got out of the room and changed into a dark blue robe.
Renzo still didn't find her in the room. His bedroom was on the top floor so there was only one place she could be, the balcony. Renzo saw the curtain covering the exit to the balcony blowing inwards.
He shivered a little from the cold as goosebumps developed on the skin of his shoulder. He went to the balcony and found her staring at the garden below.
He guessed that she didn't cover herself properly and placed a warm coat around her shoulders.
"You've been out for a long time, you must be cold," he said in his hypnotic voice that was quite neutral. But to Asari, it felt different, she felt warmth coming from him. His natural scent tickled her nostril as he gently placed the coat on her.
He quickly left her side and stood beside her. His face was flushed and his heart thumped uncontrollably. He feared that the woman beside him may notice it. Seeing the woman look at the garden, he realised that he was worried too much. A glint of disappointment crossed his eyes at her silence.
Finally breaking the silence, she spoke, "Thank you."
Feeling a little bit satisfied, he replied cheerfully, "You're welcome."
Another silence followed as everyone slipped into their thoughts. None knew about the other, they were strangers but something strong drew the two together.
Dying from curiosity, Renzo asked, "How did you end up in the Black dungeons?"
Asari's heart leapt suddenly from the question. She didn't know whether it was from fear or something else, she stuttered a little, "I...I don't remember a thing about how ended up there."
"You..you don't remember?" He asked again, not in doubt but surprised, maybe?
Asari tightened the arm holding the coat and nodded her head slightly. She hadn't stared at him since he arrived.
"So...what you're your name?" he asked, running a hand through his wet hair.
"Asari...Asari Tyler," she said loud enough for him to hear.
"..."
He stared at her in an unfathomable way but he couldn't speak anything. Asari felt his gaze piercing as it sent cold chills running down her spine.
"Ok, go in first and sleep," he said, gently rubbing her back to dispel her fear and nervousness. Asari quickly headed back in and slept the moment her head hit the soft bed.
Renzo intricately gazed at her movements meticulously. Only he knew what ran in his mind.
