The Scarlet Witch

"It won't work; she is far too powerful and too great to join them," David replied before turning to her.

"No matter what happens, do not leave this spot," David said.

"Why? What's going to happen?"

"Don't jinx it," David replied before taking a step forward.

He wasn't doing this to hide her, nor was this a "stay here and you'll be safe" situation. The entire cave system would collapse soon; there was no safe place.

"Hello, ladies!" David greeted, loud enough to interrupt their ritual.

Immediately, all heads in the room snapped toward him. There were a total of 4

"Who are you?" one of the ladies asked.

"I don't think that's important," he responded.

"Why are you here?" another woman asked.

"For her. You can't take her. She is far beyond you, and you know that," David said as he continued to approach them.

"Stand back!" one of them shouted.

However, David didn't have the time or the energy to waste explaining everything. Instead, he decided to follow a more effective route.

He could kill all of them and just carry the unconscious girl out of there, but what use would that serve? He would have to interfere in the life and death of these humans for that to work, so instead...

"I never foresaw the day when mere humans would try to order a god to do their bidding," David remarked as the atmosphere suddenly shifted.

The once-sticky air, overflowing with chaos and demonic energy, slowly began to give way to a warm and somewhat comforting aura that filled the entire cavern.

"Is that a halo?" Jean asked, surprised, as he saw the glowing ring slowly appear above David's head.

This was the path David had chosen. These women were innocent and hadn't done much wrong in their lives. Yes, they were witches, but that had never dictated one's fate.

They were here solely to help the girl. Her powers had begun to emerge after the red and blue bastard dropped her off. Her uncontrollable magic needed to be tamed.

Hence, they tried to initiate her—a great idea if the target wasn't the Scarlet Witch. This was the beginning of all her suffering, where Chthon marked her soul as his.

Instead of fighting, David chose to use overwhelming power to intimidate them. Humanity, no matter what they are, fears absolute power.

"Who are you?" another one asked again.

"Isn't it obvious who or what I am?" David replied before snapping his fingers.

Instantly, the entire room became brightly lit, the magic circle they had drawn faded into nothingness, and Wanda was nowhere to be seen.

"My Lord, I implore you, please let the girl go. She has done nothing wrong," one of the witches pleaded as they all immediately dropped to their knees.

Both he and Jean could feel the overwhelming fear they had for him. Absolute power truly overrules all.

"Stop it. As I said earlier, I am not here to harm you. I am here for her," he said before suddenly turning to one of the empty sections of the cavern.

Almost instantly, they all saw what looked like a veil being lifted as two strange-looking people fell out from behind it. Both were dressed oddly—one looked like a priest, while the other wore normal clothing, but the snake around him was something else.

"Did I present myself to be so weak that even Elder Gods think they can go against me?" David said before snapping his fingers.

Immediately, the two figures began to disintegrate as their flesh returned to dust, which then flew away, returning to the Earth.
