Chapter 26 That world became my world too

Way found himself in front of the restaurant where he was to go on a date. He quickly stopped a taxi then rushed home. As soon as he arrived home, he found Wave pacing around anxiously.

"Wave," he called out.

"Tch! What an idiot, you got us worried," Wave rushed towards Way and then hugged him.

"Were you the one who did it?" Way suddenly asked.

"Yeah, it was me can't you see? Everything was getting out of hand, you were getting out of hand Way," Wave sighed and then emphasized.

"I was handling it,"

"Handling it, you were just fooling around and yourself Way," Wave replied.

"What if I told you I wasn't I love him Wave, I've never felt this before, is that why you added her? Her fiancee? You can't be serious," Way felt frustrated at that point.

"In love? He's not even a human being Way that's just something I made up, I created it it's an illusion that's not love," she paused then stared at his twin brother.

"You better forget about it, it's better to end it atleast it will prevent you from doing the nonsense that you started,"Wave said.

"Don't do anything stupid Wave, the moment I got drawn into that world it became my world too, I love Aidan and I won't let you do that if you do that you loose me too," after saying that, Way glared at her before stomping away. He knew Wave would do anything if it meant protecting Way. Way was Wave's weakness and Wave was Way's weakness too.

Way walked into his room and then stared at the calendar. He heaved a sigh of relief seeing that only a few hours had passed. He settled down then placed his phone on a charger before switching it on. Immediately his phone was switched on, Layla's number was displayed on it. After hesitating for a while, he picked up the all.

"Way? Finally where have you been, aah don't answer that it's clear where you were anyway everyone is looking for you here," Layla said anxiously.

"Why is everyone looking for me?" He asked.

"So everyone in the hospital thinks the person in the book is you,"

"Well, they are not wrong it is me," he proudly replied.

"That's the problem, anyway I'll come see you after work,"

"Great, you can talk some sense into her,"

"Why? Did you guys fight?" Layla asked.

"Yeah, she's not being realistic," he whined.

"Do you remember the last time you did, I'm not getting involved this time Way, you will have to deal with it on your own this time,"

"You know she only listens to you, please do it for me," Way tried convincing her. He knew that Wave listened and trusted Layla more.

"No, that's not enough," Layla said qiling cheekily.

"Then, I'll get you the bag," Way sighed as he said reluctantly.

"Deal, no take backs," she said excitedly.

"Yeah, no take backs," he rolled his eyes.

...

Mark watched from the door as Aidan worked tirelessly. It wasn't just working at this rate he was giving everyone in the company pressure. He had completed two days worth of work.

"Is he trying to work himself to death?" He mumbled helplessly. He finally decided to talk sense into him. He sighed heavily and then walked towards him.

"I'm here not as an assistant but as a friend after all we were friends before I became your assistant," he composed himself and then continued but then suddenly heard Aidan yell," get out,"

"I'm here as a friend not as your assistant so you can't order me around," Mark replied hesitantly. He knew it won't end well but he still had to do it. He was always the sacrificial lamb as usual.

"I'm taking your bonus this month," he heard him growl angrily.

"Fine, take it," Mark replied in bitterness.

"Anyway, why are you doing this to yourself? Is it because he disappeared again?" Mark asked eyeing him curiously to check any reaction.

"Don't give me that look just because I don't ask questions that doesn't mean I don't know what is happening in your life, I'm always with you so I know. He is not from this world isn't he?" He turned to Aidan curiously waiting for his reply.

"That's what I think," Aidan replied after some seconds. Mark was the only person he could trust so he didn't mind opening up to him. It was also why he made him his assistant and the second in command. Everyone in the company respected Mark as they knew he was the eyes and the ears of the president. Everything that Mark did was known to have come from the president so he received respect.

"I don't think you should be worried, he will always come back I've witnessed his love for you and I believe he will tell you everything when the right time comes he has his reasons," Mark said.

"I'm not sure anymore, I didn't tell him about my fiancee," he said worriedly. Mark immediately understood his worries. He was worried that Way might have misunderstood everything that was why he left. That thought killed him inside. He wanted to clear things up and tell him that he was the one he loved but instead it ended up this way.

He understood what Mark was trying to tell him but his worries still lurked around. Even luck couldn't save him.

Seeing that Aidan was silent, he spoke up again.

"If he loves you, he will trust you and he will come back. I saw him hold the necklace before he ran to the bathroom he would have left it behind if he wasn't going to come back," Aidan immediately lifted his head. He finally felt confident after hearing that.

"What should I do?" He asked after a while.

This was the first time Mark got to witness Aidan's new side. The helpless side, the loving side he finally knew that he was indeed a human but not just a human but a human who was deeply in love. He sighed heavily and then answered," take care of yourself I don't want to be blamed for not taking care of you,"

"Order food," Aidan said feeling a bit enthusiastic.

"Got it sir," Mark stood up with a smile as he walked towards the door proudly.
