It was a simple plan: find the spirits and let Chris tame them and contract them using his abilities.
It was definitely going to work; he had everything to make it work!
Although they were considered monsters, they were still within the Spirit Family.
Paul wanted Chris to also have a strong Monster-Spirit to protect him from danger, so these were ideal.
It wasn't even that hard to deal with them either!
Yet…
At the end.
"Ugh?! Uaaagh!"
Chris panicked the moment he touched the thing; darkness engulfed his hand and began to quickly spread through his body.
The Frenzied Dark Spirit wasn't so easy to defeat; as it was about to die, it clung to life, attempting to parasitize him.
"Is it parasitic?!"
Paul panicked; he had no idea that thing could actually parasitize beings, even less actual players at that!
He prepared himself as he was about to kill the monster using his Holy Sword Soul Aura!
TRUUUM!
However, Chris eyes began glowing red out of nowhere as the entire Frenzied Dark Spirit disappeared, wrapping his entire body and… entering it.
"CHRIS?!"
Paul screamed, as he, Ermelinda, and Camilla looked terrified.
Yes, even Camilla was a bit mortified!
Chris was right there, standing in silence.
Until... he started to smile, his eyes glowing brighter with each passing second.
"Heh… HAHAHAHAA!"
Chris started laughing maniacally, manifesting gigantic dark red claws from his hands, as his entire body was wrapped in the darkness, fusing with his clothes to create a sexy black leotard with fishnet stockings and black heels.
The Frenzied Dark Spirit was beginning to rapidly take over his body, changing his clothes and strengthening them based on their former appearance. While leaving a lot of exposed skin so it could manifest its darkness through Chris' bare skin!
"KILL! KILL! KILL!"
Chris began roaring wildly, becoming crazier by the second, his eyes spiraling and glowing brightly; black horns grew over his head as his red hair grew longer, waving around, becoming pointy, resembling tentacles with sharp spear-like tips.
RUMBLE!
And his Aura grew tremendously strong as well! The Frenzied Dark Spirit took over him and combined its powers with him, turning Chris into a monster.
"Are you kidding me?! Chris!"
Paul quickly learned in that moment that this wasn't as good of an idea as he thought! He should have investigated better; he should have made sure that it was possible to begin with. But his recklessness ended up ruining everything.
"I'm going to kill you, hehehe…" Chris laughed. "I'm going to kill everyone! I'm going to bathe in your blood!"
FLASH!
Chris rushed forward, swinging his hands, as giant black claws emerged from them. Vlad was attacked instantly, as he was blown away by the double claw attack!
CRAAASH!
"Ugh?!"
His armor helped him resist the blow, but the attack power was immense! It wasn't at all like the level of strength the Frenzied Dark Spirit had on its own.
"Brother!"
Camilla panicked, running towards Vlad as she saw him on the floor, unable to move.
"GRRHHH…"
However, Chris appeared behind her, his red eyes glowing brightly, as his teeth had become sharp like those of sharks.
"KILL…"
He swung a long black tail, rushing towards Camilla's head!
"Camilla!"
Emerlinda panicked, pointing her spear at Chris and hitting it with an explosion of spiritual energies.
BOOOM!
"Ugh!"
Chris groaned furiously, although it seemed to have done some damage.
"Chris, please wake up! We can't kill you! Your Avatar will disappear if we do so!" Emerlinda tried to wake up Chris.
"SHUT UP! I'M IN CHARGE NOW!"
The Frenzied Dark Spirit spoke through Chris as he opened Chris' jaws as if they were being dislocated, unleashing a massive black beam against the two girls.
TRUUUM!!
The explosive beam reached Camilla and Emerlinda, as Camilla rapidly wrapped them both in a bubble of telekinesis, sending them both flying deeper into the forest.
BAAAM!
"GRRHHH…!" Chris groaned as smoke came out of his jaws, his monstrous jaw quickly going back to normal. "G-Guucck…! Argh…"
His head was constantly shaking weirdly; something within was trying to fight back, but the possession was unexpectedly powerful, forcing Chris to remain in that state anyway.
"Hehehe… you're too weak! My body now!" laughed the Frenzied Dark Spirit. "Fools! Should have killed me beforehand! Now I will kill! KILL! KILL! KILL!"
As Chris laughed maniacally, suddenly…
FLASH!
Vlad appeared above, moving at lightning speed by combining the Spells Soar with the Thunderbolt Strike Spell, giving him the ability to move at lightning speed for a tiny second, swinging his sword down.
"Give his body back!"
His sword became ethereal, as Vlad kept it combined with his Soul and infused with Holy Elemental Spells, he aimed not to slice through Chris body but through the Dark Spirit's Soul!
SLAAASH! SLAAASH! SLAAASH!
Three slashing attacks reached the Dark Spirit, one of them hit, making its body stagger, but the other two missed, as the Dark Spirit used Chris wings to fly into the skies, kicking down Vlad with immense force.
BAAAM!
"Ugh?!"
Paul hit the ground, vomiting a bit of blood as he felt like he ended up breaking one of his ribs. The attack just now pierced through his armor.
"He…! He used Dark Spirit Power to pierce through my armor!" he thought at that moment. "It created a shockwave that hurt my ribs… So there's such a type of attacks."
In that moment, Vlad quickly learned that there were "Piercing Attacks" capable of ignoring Physical Armor entirely.
"Hehehehe! DIE!"
Chris laughed manically, rushing down as his claws aimed at Vlad's head! With the Dark Spirit's Piercing Power, it could be possible for him to crush Vlad's skull if given the opportunity!
"[Abyssal Silver Moon Guardians]: {Silver Moon Mirror}!"
FLUOSH!
However, in that moment, two ghostly, silver-armored knight-like guardians manifested out of nowhere, protecting Vlad from Chris' frenzied blow.
CRAAASH!
RUMBLE!
A shockwave of pure dark spirit energy was released as he hit the guardians' mirror shields, shattering them into pieces.
And yet…
FLAAASH!
Two powerful Moonlight Beams emerged as the mirrors shattered, carrying the Dark Spirit's attack power into it.
BOOOM!
"Uagh!"
Chris cried, making Paul hesitate for a moment, stepping back worriedly.
"Chris? Are you there?"
As he ran towards Chris, the incubus stood up, his eyes glowing redder than before, darkness wrapping his hands, forming a blade.
"Uuuggh… Yes, I'm here… Come and die."
"Ah!"
CRAAASH!
Vlad barely swung his sword upwards, clashing against the Frenzied Dark Spirit's Blade. The two moved at lightning speed, rapidly beginning to exchange blows!
CLASH! CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!
"Dammit Chris!"
Paul started to rapidly overwhelm Chris in technique alone. The Spirit's blows carried raw power but lacked agility. Each attack aimed at his vitals very roughly, making it easy for Paul to easily evade and predict.
"GRRHHH…! ENOUGH!"
The Frenzied Dark Spirit screamed, opening Chris jaws and firing a black beam towards Vlad at almost point-blank!
"Shit!"
Vlad quickly placed his sword in front of him, infusing it with the Sunshine Beam Spell and making it glow with bright light.
SLAAASH!
And then he swung down, slicing through the black beam, dividing it into two blasts that went to his left and right, blowing up several trees.
BOOOM! BOOOM!
As this happened, a giant invisible hand rushed down; Vlad jumped away, as Chris and the Spirit were pushed into the ground by a powerful, invisible force.
TRUUUM!
"Uuurrggh! W-What's this?! Unhand me! Let me kill! KILL! I MUST KILL!"
Vlad moved towards the direction of the origin of the attack, noticing Camilla being right there, with Emerlinda rushing to Chris.
"Brother! I'll hold him down! Please exorcize him or something!"
"Yeah, I wanted to do that for a while now! But dammit, I don't think I got something that can actually exorcize!"
Although he had a lot of Spells within his equipment, Vlad had no Exorcizing Spell within any of them. He had no Holy Element either, or he only employed something similar through the Sunshine Beam Spell.
Chris was one of the powerful Light Spells and everything, not him!
However, he had to try.
"Let me help as well, Paul!" Emerlinda said. "My Spirit of Light could be of help! I also noticed that Spirit Energy seems to hurt the Dark Spirit a lot!"
"Alright!" Vlad placed his sword into the ground and quickly touched Emerlinda's shoulder, connecting his Arcana with her. "Your Spirit, is that one? It's cute! Now…!"
FLAAASH!
"Woah!"
Emerlinda panicked as she felt her powers overflowing from her body and then flew towards Vlad, which then went towards her Light Spirit.
As this happened, Paul was also activating another Skill, the Red Moon above the Skies was actually perfect for that, as a large magical circle expanded, crimson runes flying around Chris, forming a Domain.
"{Crimson Moon Arcane Arts}: {Crimson Moon Formation: Spirit Extraction}!"
FLUOSH!
Four crimson pillars made of blood-colored energies surged from the ground, surrounding Chris and the Spirit within him.
"Gryaaaah! Stop! Stop thissssss!"
The Dark Spirit began trying to forcefully break out of Camilla's grip; enormous quantities of darkness were gathering within a single point.
"Brother! Hurry!"
As Camilla screamed, Paul nodded.
"Almost there!"
He clapped his hands after that, activating a Skill he had equipped.
"{Spirit Mediator}!"
FLUOSH!
The power of speaking and even controlling Spirits activated within him; its power, flowing through the small Formation, rapidly covered Chris.
And then, with Emerlinda's Spirit Energy and her Light Spirit, he used Geomancy to bind everything together into a single Spell.
"{Great Geomancy}: {Dark Spirit-Binding Spiritual Formation}!"
FLAAASH!
The entire formation changed, becoming completely bright gold.
"Nooooo! Aaaarrgghh!"
And as this happened, Chris groaned, the Frenzied Dark Spirit within him roaring, complaining as it began to agonize before the light.
"Chris! You can do it! Fight back!"
Now it was all up to Chris to fight back and regain ownership of his body!
