Chapter 149: A New Little Friend 1

-----

As Vlad showcased his new ability, he received mixed reactions from his friends.

"O-Ooohh!" Ermelinda was quite surprised, clapping her hands. "Wow, that's interesting! I had no idea that was even possible…"

"It is!" Nodded Paul. "And I can do more, I think. Let's try different shapes."

"It's honestly kind of creepy," Gofumina glared at the bone ball with disgust.

"I don't think that's how bone works; it is as if they become mud in your hands…" Chris said. "I suppose you can also make weapons, but still, you've got a lot of materials to make better ones anyway!"

"I know, I know, but it is still fun and interesting," said Paul. "I am just trying out the shapes and getting used to this. Eventually I plan to combine it with my skills; imagine if I use Geomancy on my own bones; what things could I even make with that?"

"T-That's creepy; I don't even want to imagine!" Chris cried.

"Hahah! Okay, let's see… I think I could make them levitate." Paul tried, throwing the ball into the air, but…

BAAM!

The ball ended up hitting the floor; it was unable to float, and even when he tried to lift it, it was impossible.

"So I can only control bones I am in direct contact with?" He wondered, touching the ball with his foot while still wearing his boots.

And then, the bone ball turned into a spear again by his will.

"So even when I'm wearing shoes or equipment over my body, as long as I touch it, it still counts…" He nodded. "Okay, new test…"

Then he grabbed a branch from the backyard and touched the bone ball with it…

The result? Nothing.

"So it doesn't work with extended materials, only things "equipped" to me, understood…" Nodded Vlad. "What about my sword?"

He tried the sword, and… it didn't work either.

"So weapons themselves don't apply…"

He looked at his armored greaves and then used alchemy and geomancy to manipulate the metallic shoes, extending them into long spikes.

With these spikes, he touched the bone and…

FLUOSH!

The bone changed shape, becoming a five-pointed star.

"It works? This is strange; just how many conditions does this ability have?" Paul wondered. "It's quite interesting… Maybe if I extend my armored gloves as claws, pierce the body of a foe, and then grab their bones, I could probably manipulate them and tear them out of his body."

"T-That sounds brutal, like in Mortal Kombat!" Ermelinda said with excitement. "I want to see that!"

"Hahaha, yeah, that's a nasty ability," laughed Gofumina. "Though, I don't know if you're the right type of guy to get it. Aren't you already plenty strong?"

"We've been fighting literal outer gods lately, so I think it's fine…" Paul smiled. "If anything, more power and more abilities, more versatility, and more adaptability in combat. This game's wicked, and there are a bunch of weird foes everywhere. With strange abilities, I almost got myself killed fighting one of those Desecrated Shadow King Templars that had insane transformation abilities… I won't let that happen to me again."

"Hmmm, fair, I've seen that video, but it barely had enough footage of the fight," said Gofumina.

"I'm surprised not many have made fun of me for losing," Vlad said humbly.

"Who would?! You were clearly fighting a monster way above your level that got inside your city. People were mostly criticizing the game for its stupid difficulty in the comments," Gofumina said.

"Oh really? I didn't know; maybe we should check the comments more every now and then…" said Paul. "Ah right, Chris, have you uploaded new videos?"

"Yeah, I uploaded one yesterday, and I plan to upload one today," said Chris. "It's stuff I filmed from our battles against the dark spirits, then the cultists and the giant green slime."

"Oh, I bet that'll get some views…!" Ermelinda said. "D-Do I appear in those videos?"

"Yep," nodded Chris. "What, you want a share of the revenue?"

"I-I didn't say anything… I'm just happy I'm in!" Ermelinda nodded with a cute smile. "I wonder if I could get popular?"

"Hahaha, in your dreams…!" Laughed Chris.

"E-Eh?"

Suddenly the half-elf made quite a sad face, making Chris feel slightly bad.

"Chris, don't bully Ermelinda…" Paul glared at him.

"Aaah, ok… sorry," Chris groaned. "Well, whatever, can you divide the bones and stuff?"

"Yeah, I think so," Paul said. He quickly transformed the bone star into several smaller stars, but it became harder to manipulate because he only had two hands. "But dividing it like this might not be that good; I can't really manipulate them without touching… I can combine it back easily, though."

He grabbed each little star and combined them back into the larger bone structure, turning it back into a sphere of bones… Then, he looked at it for a second and shaped it into a small puppet-like creature.

It didn't look like a skeleton at all; the appearance of a skeleton was simply too damn detailed for him to easily create out of his own mind by touching the bones.

But he made a puppet-like thing, with two arms, two legs, a torso, and a tiny head with two holes as eyes.

"Oh, is that a doll? A bone doll!" Ermelinda said. "Interesting, can you make it move from afar?"

"No, unfortunately I cannot…" Said Paul. "Maybe I could, though, if I do this…"

He smiled, releasing his Soul Aura from his body, resembling blazing golden flames.

Then he touched his Soul Aura and the doll and transferred Arcana through both of them, letting his Soul Aura enter the doll.

"{Geomancy}: {Bone Golem}"

FLUOSH!

He created a spell on the spot as a bright explosion of white light engulfed the room for a moment.

The people present covered their eyes at the light, but Vlad remained looking at it.

Once the light receded and the room went back to normal, his eyes widened as he smiled.

The little white-colored bone doll…

Started moving!

"Yipeee!"
