Chapter 19:"After the incident"

The authorities safely rescued the female middle school student after the event that happened in the woods. The group of friends learned that she had only slight injuries but was, of course, frightened by her experience.

Sofia voiced her concern. "I just can't imagine how scared she must have been. Hope she's all right."

Sebastian nodded in agreement. "Yes, she has been fortunate. Authorities got to her in time."

Lena's expression turned rueful. "Such a shame. I feel sympathy. Must have been a nightmare."

Wilhelm added facts."She's safe, at any rate. That's the main thing."

Group fell into a silent reverie. They each plunged into thoughts about the incident.

Moments later Lena spoke. An undertone was in her voice. "I heard authorities brought remains of the wolf which was killed. They are using it for case studies."

Sofia looked flabbergasted. Her declaration was, "Really? I did not know that."

Sebastian assumed an air of thoughtfulness. Serenity dripped out of him. A moment of well-modulated pause ensued before he spoke. His voice is tranquil affecting a soothing lilt. There was unwavering assertiveness in his words. The words were, "I guess the aim is to get to understand these animals. We need to protect ourselves effectively from them."

Next, Wilhelm nodded in acceptance. He said, "It's imperative. To know wildlife in our area is of essence. Knowing how to be safe in their habitat is a must."

Lena looked glum. "I just wish there was something we could do to help the girl who was attacked. It's not fair that she had to go through something like that."

Sofia placated a hand against Lena's shoulder. "I know, but sometimes all any of us can do is be there, help them out a bit. Maybe we could pop into the hospital and see her or send some flowers around or something."

The group agreed it was very good and preceded to arrange for her visit to the girl at the hospital. After all, they know sometimes even small acts of kindness can mean a big help in recuperating from a terrible experience as quickly as possible.
