Chapter 28:"Fika and Grandma at Wilhelm's House"

The children stayed skating on the rink. Wilhelm took a phone call. It was from his grandmother. She wanted them to come to Wilhelm's house. It was for Fika and to play.

"Hey guys. Grandma called. She's invited us over for Fika. She asked us to hang out at my place." Wilhelm told his friends, obviously elated. He continued, "Looks like she really wishes to know you."

Everyone agreed. They tagged along with Wilhelm back to his house. His grandmother received them with a warm greeting.

"Welcome! Kids. Please call me Grandma, dear grandchildren." Grandma was over the moon there was a light in her eyes. Now she hugged four persons with love. "You all feel like family to Wilhelm," she continued.

Wilhelm exhibited pride. He felt proud to be quite truthful. These persons, to whom he was so attached, were being embraced by his grandmother. Family clearly valued their relationship.

His friends' faces lightened up. Visible joy was on their faces. A moment of smile and thanks was taken by each of them for her. The acquaintance and warmth of years gone seemed so abundant. Their friend's family felt like having truly welcome and friendly vibes. Warmth filled every heart. As if one were embraced into the fold. Nothing made them feel more special than all that love.

They felt their protectiveness and real fondness for their friend in return. But they have never failed to show their regards. They sat down sharing a collective sense of belonging. Henry was emotionally overwhelmed. The love of an alternate family had never been so visible to his gaze. Undoubtedly everyone there left knowing they were enfolded.

Lena blushed and smiled, feeling flattered by the warm welcome.

At the fika, Grandma chit-chatted with the circle of friends and asked them what their interests were and what they did for hobbies. She actually showed much interest in Lena's cuteness and sweetness, saying she would wish to have a granddaughter.

"Now as you know, I have five but only three are married, one of course the father of Wilhelm. And all the married ones have sons, and my oldest girl remained single until she was 45 years old so I never had a chance to have a granddaughter of my own." Grandma had commented.

Grandma told stories about her family and her life, and the group listened with interest. It was a wonderful afternoon with good company and fine food.
