Friends discussed upcoming performance. It was at school fair. The Merchant of Venice became the center of their conversation. Wilhelm received lead role unexpectedly. He played Antonio. Antonio is a young merchant from Venice.
Beliefs of Lena had been expressed upon hearing news. She was amazed. Her words were, "I can't believe you got the lead role, Wilhelm!"
Sophia reflected sentiments. "What's it like playing Antonio? It will be an amazing experience."
Wilhelm had a shrug in his reply. "It's taxing. Yet it's still thrilling. Must show Antonio as a prosperous businessman. He puts all at stake for a friend. Character's difficult. However, I love such challenges."
Felix was aroused by the revelation. "Who's in the play beside you?" Wilhelm responded with his answer. "Elias plays Bassanio and Tanja is Portia."
Sophia's face lit with a smile. "Tanja will be a splendid Portia. She possesses grace and elegance in abundance." Göran decided to add further details. He's an actor in the play too. "Great! I'm Shylock. A grumpy Jew. It appears a I'm Wilhelm's adversary for whole play." Then Göran proceeded to laugh.
"Playing Shylock. Scheming old Jew." Those are words from Göran. "My role requires friendliness with adversary. Wilhelm has the honor. A part of my role."
Accusation ruled over majority of the story. It was a tale of love and prejudice. Ironically the love too was situated amidst various prejudices. Emma has scintillating flair. Marvelous was her expression. Her images reflected similes. Her words embedded irony unparalleled. Their beauty surpassed all normal expressions. Really it was beautiful journey into words. Both laden with love and prejudices. The similes in Emma's work sparkled. They were like jewels studded in crown of prejudice. Little by little I realized crown of prejudice is not all bad. It is sometimes actually desirable. Such a miraculous revelation made by her.
The glide is effective here. It made me realize the true essence of virtues. They appear all the more praiseworthy. They appear so when accompanied by bigotry and bias. Presenting occasional ironic touch. Non-verbal words did aptly follow the verbal ones. Effect was profound. Emma had undoubtedly provided a riveting example of exquisite use of language. She played with them. It left me in awe. This was the effect charm of her mighty pen. The result was evident. A spellbinding blend of emotions.
