You Suck!

As the morning sun lazily filtered through the curtains, warming the room, Kiara reluctantly opened her eyes.

Another day of adulting beckoned, but she wasn't quite ready to leave the comfort of her bed. With a groan, she dragged herself upright, already feeling the weight of the day ahead. Tossing on whatever outfit was closest, she stumbled out for work.

At the office, Kayla greeted her with a fringe face, clearly not pleased. "Kiara! I heard about your sudden departure from someone else. It wasn't right," Kayla said, stuffing papers into a drawer beneath her legs.

Kiara tried to speak, but Kayla kept going. "How come you were going to be off for two days and I wasn't told? I only found out when I called you to ask where you went after hearing from Nolan about your 'business trip,'" Kayla said, raising her fingers in quotes.

Kiara was about defending herself when she was obstructed by Kayla.
