His mother patted his arm, with a soft expression. "The workers should be asleep by now, so go ahead and grab something light to eat from the kitchen, and then straight to bed, okay? No more late-night adventures for tonight!" she added.
"Okay, Mom," Darren replied, giving her a gentle squeeze before letting go and heading towards the kitchen.
Darren wasn't really hungry, so he skipped the snack, just taking water, and after she had gone inside, he headed to his room to avoid her from questioning why he didn't take any meal.
He kicked off his shoes, ditched his tie and shirt, and flopped onto the bed. His mind started replaying the day's events, and he couldn't help but smile as he thought about Kiara. Before he knew it, his eyes got heavy, and he dozed off.
