As the lunch break arrived, Kiara saw her chance to catch up with Nolan and ask about the previous night's change of plans.

She still expected him to come to her house, but he never arrived, and Kiara was left wondering what had happened.

With a friendly tone, she approached Nolan, who was engrossed in typing on his computer, and asked, "What's keeping you busy, Nolan?"

Nolan, still focused on his screen, replied, "Just typing a letter quickly."

He avoided eye contact, his gaze lingering on the keyboard, as he struggled to come to terms with Kiara's recent choice to pursue Darren over him.

Kiara's curiosity piqued, she pressed on, "What letter is that? Do we have any ongoing projects that require it?" But then, her tone softened, and she got to the real reason for her inquiry,

"Never mind, I actually came to ask why you didn't show up yesterday. You had mentioned coming over, and I was expecting you."
