"Kiara, wait up! I was just about to catch up with you," Darren said, closing the door behind him and blocking Kiara's path. "I've got some important info to share with you before you go in."

"When is your birthday celebration?" Darren asked, you didn't share the details yesterday.

"It's at 2:00 pm," Kiara replied, followed by a sudden "Oh no," from Darren.

"What's up? Is it the time? I chose 2:00 pm because I've got a reservation at the restaurant and they only had a table free at noon," Kiara said, trying to figure out what was wrong.

"Kiara, that's not why I reacted like that. The truth is, the CEO needs me to attend a meeting with some officials at 2:30 pm, and I have no idea how long it'll run. I'm not sure I'd be able to make it to your celebration," Darren explained, sounding apologetic.
