Aunt Meyer chuckled, shaking her head,
"Oh wait, you didn't wash the dishes? Ha! I was wondering how you two managed to get out of paying the bill!" She settled back into the couch, a sly grin still playing on her lips.
"So, tell me, how did you two Houdinis manage to escape the restaurant without paying? Did you use your charm to convince the waiter to foot the bill?"
Ethan and Kiara exchanged a knowing glance, and Ethan whispered to Kiara,
"Looks like today's really our lucky day..." Kiara nodded in agreement, and Aunt Meyer was curious.
"Why do you say that?" she asked, her eyes narrowing slightly, her tone hinting at a mix of amusement and suspicion.
"What makes you think today's your lucky day, hmm?" She leaned forward, her hands clasped together, her eyes sparkling with interest.
Ethan explained,
"We had a good Samaritan at the restaurant who paid for everyone's meals. It was a real lifesaver!"
