Close Call(5)

Previously -

Faria created a portal to the mountaintop, and both entered. From there, she pulled out her telescope and started scanning the area, spotting some monsters and police engaged in combat. Acting swiftly, she created another portal and vanished there. Before Tamim could react, the portal closed, leaving him surprised.

"What the hell? Where did she go? Did she forget my existence?" Tamim muttered. He noticed the telescope on the ground, picked it up, and zoomed in, spotting a car fleeing from the forest.

Deciding that the main enemy might be escaping, Tamim teleported directly behind the car and attempted to use telekinesis to halt it, but encountered a spiritual force blocking his powers.

Now-

"What was that? I can lift any object, but something stopped my power from lifting that truck," Tamim thinks, startled. The backdoor of the truck opens, and two men slowly transform into monsters and they jump from the moving truck.

With that they started running toward Tamim.

"Two at once, but I'm prepared. As long as my eyes are okay, I can keep up or escape," Tamim thinks, assessing the situation.

One of them lunges, transforming into a monster. Tamim dodges the attack and counters with a swift kick. Teleporting behind one, he lands a solid punch on its face, staggering it. With quick reflexes, he teleports again, targeting the second monster with another precise hit.

"Great, all my strategies from the train really worked out," Tamim says to himself, teleporting to a safe distance before they can react.

"This time, I won't let them lay a finger on me," he resolves. Moving swiftly, Tamim launches a powerful punch at the first monster. The second monster attempts a counter, but Tamim skillfully shifts his position, causing the monsters to collide.

"Excellent, my plan worked again," he mutters, analyzing the situation. Both monsters charge at him, but Tamim quickly utilizes nearby trees to hold them back momentarily. He then propels himself to the ground with force, breaking it beneath the monsters, hurling them far away.

"Where's that truck? I can't see it. Maybe it escaped," Tamim mumbles, scanning the area.

Suddenly, one of the monsters leaps forward, landing a heavy punch on Tamim. He staggers backward, and the other monster grabs him from behind, both beginning a relentless assault. Despite taking a few hits, Tamim manages to teleport away.

"I'm not going to let you beat me again. I won't rely on anyone else to save me. I'll destroy both of you," Tamim declares, determined to turn the tables.

Tamim sought refuge on a tree to regenerate, but one of the monsters uprooted the tree and hurled it at him. Reacting swiftly, Tamim vaulted away, narrowly avoiding the incoming obstacle. As the other monster lunged for an attack, Tamim intercepted, striking the device on its arm.

"I know destroying this will limit your power," Tamim declared, aiming to cripple the monster's ability.

However, their combined fury led to a chaotic clash. Dodging and weaving Tamim suddenly felt the second monster was behind him and before he could react the monster behind him grabbed Tamims eyes so that Tamim couldn't see anything.

Tamim was unable to see anything. At that moment the another monster started punching Tamims chest over and over again. The bones of Tamims chest started to break with the attacks and Tamim was bleeding.

The monster which was holding Tamims eyes ripped off Tamims eyeball from his head and threw Tamim on the ground.

Tamim screams with pain. The first monster pressured his leg on Tamims head, crushing Tamims skull.

The other monster who was holding Tamims right leg and right hand, ripped off Tamims hand and leg from Tamims body. With a scream Tamim became unconscious.

The monsters, convinced of their victory, notified their leader that the target might be dead. Carrying Tamim's body, they raced toward the forest's edge.

Yet, Tamim's closed eyes suddenly glowed, and he teleported back to the scene.

Tamims body glowed and transformed into a radiant figure, his body began to regenerate rapidly, restoring his lost limbs in a flash.

The monsters, now infuriated, attacked again. Tamim countered with a devastating punch, causing one monster to explode into oblivion.

The other, gripped with terror, fled, but the ground clenched hands open and close again disintegrating it into dust. As Tamim's glow faded, he collapsed to the ground, exhausted.

------------

Inside a lab some people are doing a scientific experiment on a human's dead body , the human body was completely cutted in pieces.

One guy created an energy in his hand and created a hole in the space and from that some spirit came out and entered the body. The dead body starts to heal automatically and the skin started to change into white and more white every second and slowly all the color of his body started fading away and the dead body opened his eyes with white blood coming from his eyes

-------

Tamim slowly opened his eyes and found himself lying in an unfamiliar bed. "Where am I? This isn't my house," he thought, sitting up and noticing the gaming equipment around. "The last thing I remember was being beaten by that monster."

Curious, he moved toward the window to assess his location. Just as he attempted to open it, Faria's voice stopped him. "Don't open the window; it might cause trouble if someone sees you," she warned, appearing behind him with Tamim's bag.

"Did you save me again?" Tamim inquired.

"No, it seems you defeated that monster yourself. I couldn't locate the remains properly; it was scattered everywhere. Fortunately, I found you before the police did," she explained.

"But I didn't defeat anyone; I was badly beaten by them," Tamim protested.

"Really? If that's true, then Dr. X might have somehow made one monster kill the other," Faria speculated.

"There were two monsters," Tamim corrected her.

"Oh, I see. So, he made one kill the other, but the bodies exploded. How is that even possible?" pondered Faria.

"He has a formula to create them, so he must have a way to control them. Probably, he makes the monsters explode to avoid exposure," Tamim theorized.

"However, Are you hungry or thirsty?" Faria asked.

"No, why? " Tamim replied.

"Alright, there's nothing I can offer you right now," Faria conceded, creating a portal and sending Tamim back to the same roof where she had teleported him before.

"As I expected, she would do that. Ah, snowfall... Wait, what time is it?" Tamim reached for his phone in his bag and discovered it was 5 am.

--------------

As the funeral concluded, a man stood by the grave, lost in thought. "You were always my best friend. I'll miss you, Nadik," he silently lamented. His phone suddenly rang.

"The funeral is over. Can you meet us?" a voice from the other end requested.

"Okay, I'm coming," Foisal replied. He left the funeral, stepped into a waiting car, and began driving. His phone rang again.

**Phone Conversation:**

**Other Side:** Dad, how are you?

**Foisal:** I'm okay. How's my girl?

**Other Side:** I'm fine. When will you be free?

**Foisal:** Don't know, but soon. Don't be upset, my dear.

**Other Side:** Don't treat me like a child. Just visit me as soon as possible, and you don't have to hold back your tears.

**Foisal:** Why do you think I hold back my tears?

**Other Side:** Okay, bye.

**Foisal:** Alright, my angel. Bye.

After the call, Foisal couldn't contain his emotions and started crying.

At the Bangladesh Special Security Board (BSSB):

"We lost all the Sup-13 officers. Only Foisal is alive. That's why I propose making Foisal the head of this mission," the BSSB head stated. "What do you say, Foisal?"

"I'd love to take the lead, but I don't have anyone to work with," Foisal replied.

An officer chimed in, "The whole department supports you. Choose anyone you want."

"I need a Soul Sorcerer for this mission. It's a concept involving superhumans, and only they can navigate this situation. The enemy is more powerful than we anticipated, so we must find superhumans within the country. I also urge the government to stop viewing superhumans as problems. If you respect them, they'll assist us. I want all the incarcerated superhumans released solely for possessing powers. Can you make that happen? If so, I'll proceed; otherwise, I'll resign now."

16 Days later-

"Fifteen days have passed, but Faria and I only conversed in-game for game-related matters. She hasn't given me any information yet, although she promised she would as soon as she could. I didn't discuss this online as per her request, fearing exposure," Tamim reflected while engaged in a game with his team at NextEra E-sports.

"Tomorrow is the selection round; I'm confident we'll breeze through it," remarked Samia.

"Yeah, I believe we have a shot at winning the world cup this year," added Rafi.

"I hope so, but it's a tough road; we've got to win the national first," expressed Fahim.

"Quiet, guys! Faria is facing trouble due to your loud chatter. We all got eliminated in the game, and now she has to face a 1v5 with only a sniper at close range. Let's not disturb her," Riya interjected.

"I don't have an issue with the conversation," Faria responded.

Faria triumphed in the match.

"Wow, that's unbelievable! You turned the impossible into possible, Faria," praised Samia.

"Faria, can you wait for me after today's practice?" Tamim asked.

Everyone's attention shifted towards Tamim since he hadn't been conversing much with Faria lately, especially in front of them.

"No worries, I've got the papers from the University," Faria replied, smoothing over the situation.

"Great, she saved me. I awkwardly stumbled in my conversation," thought Tamim. "I thought you forgot," Tamim said aloud.

"Wait, Faria, I never asked where you study. Are you both in the same university?" Riya inquired.

"Yes, same university and class," Faria confirmed.

"What? That's surprising," exclaimed Fahim.

"Tamim doesn't go to the university; that's why he asked me for the notes yesterday," Faria explained.

"She can lie like the devil," Tamim thought to himself.

After practice, Fahim excused himself, leaving Tamim and Faria alone.

Faria handed some papers to Tamim.

"What are these for?" Tamim asked.

"To turn the lie into the truth," replied Faria.

She added, "I understand why you called me, but unfortunately, I don't have any available way to gather information about Dr. X."

"Why is that? You were able to provide precise information before, and I know you're somehow connected to the police or the department working against Dr. X," Tamim persisted.

"Ahh, you still believe that? I'm afraid there's nothing I can say. I think it's not safe to talk while walking on the road. How about we go to the Butterfly Lake bridge and talk there?" suggested Faria.

Tamim thought, "She's suggesting a specific place; she must have some connection there, so I'll go along."

"Alright," Tamim agreed.

Butterfly Lake bridge -

Tamim and Faria stood on the bridge's walkway.

"I never intended to disclose this to anyone, but your misconception about me is making things awkward," Faria expressed to Tamim.

"What are you trying to say?" Tamim asked.

"The idea that I work for the police, it's a misconception. My dad is a Supercop of the Sup-13 project. He was one of the key officers working on Dr. X's mission, and I merely hacked into his Operation file and his account to gather information. Unfortunately, now his account and files are closed off, so I can't access the info anymore. My father hasn't returned home for a while, especially after that night fifteen days ago when all his team members died while fighting monsters. He's the only survivor from his department that day," explained Faria.

"Oh, you mean that night when we went to the forest," Tamim clarified.

"Yes, if I'd been late that day, I wouldn't have been able to save my father. Fortunately, I did save him, but he didn't recognize me," Faria recounted.

"And you managed to hack into government files without setting off any security alerts? That's quite impressive," Tamim remarked.

"I used my dad's phone to access the information directly. Since the IP address matched mine, it didn't raise any red flags," explained Faria.

"Ah, she's skilled at hacking. That's an interesting aspect of her abilities," Tamim thought.

"I won't be able to share any information until I have a better understanding of the situation or meet my dad. But I'll keep you informed if I do," Faria assured him.

"Why did you decide to lend me a hand?" Tamim inquired.

"I'm not exactly helping you, to be honest. None of us are truly helping each other; it's more about mutual use. Anyway, I have to head home," stated Faria as she began walking away.

Tamim contemplated, "I don't entirely trust her, but I still need her assistance to reach Dr. Shohan." Watching her depart, he pondered over her words.
