The stars greeted me when I opened my eyes. I could feel the soft grass beneath me, as well as the wet soil. I could also smell the pungent scent of blood.

"Agh..."

The soil swallowed my elbows as I used them like a cane so I could sit up.

'That felt awesome...

My body felt refreshed after waking up with the soft soil serving as a soft bed for me to sleep on. It would've been a perfect start to a morning.

After opening my eyes, it was easy to recognize the place I was at. No one touched me while I was unconscious, which was either not for long or for a very long time because the sky was still dark.

Either way, I have to get out of here. I have to take a bath too, I reek of blood.

'But where should I go next?'

That question rang in my head like a persistent hell, 65 and I didn't have an answer.

After that man cut my cloak and bandages to expose my face, a lot of people suddenly appeared and when they saw me... well, let's say it didn't go well.

'Thinking about it...!

I reached out to touch my face, feeling my cold skin as always, but there weren't any blemishes. I couldn't feel even a slight bump from where the blood should've formed a scab.

'Strange... I'll look for a mirror, or anything close to one.'

Just when I started walking, or rather, limping forward to get a move on, I heard the slight rustling of leaves behind me.

"Who's there?"

I turned around, slightly bending my knees to prepare myself.

'It looks like I have to run for a few more hours...

"I'm not here to hurt you," the person said and slowly walked out from the bush. Meanwhile, I took several steps back.

The man had an average height and barely any muscles. However, I didn't dare judge a book by its cover after what happened.

'Those people who chased me were dressed as ordinary civilians, and they even looked like one.'

However, there was no way those "civilians" could run for so long to chase after me, nor would they have high agility like me.

'Not to brag or anything, but my stamina is very high and I'm as agile as a fox.'

Who are you?" I asked, getting ready to run when I noticed something.

"This is my favorite place to stargaze," the man put on an awkward face. "However, I saw you getting up just then with those injuries... I want to help," the man walked closer.

I didn't back away this time.

Not because I trusted him, but actually the opposite.

'He saw my face. He saw the whiskers on my cheek, my pale skin, my sharp teeth, my scarlet eyes...

I gritted my teeth.

'He's not an ordinary man, and most likely, he's with those guys who chased after me.'

Despite knowing that, I didn't resist.

'And most of all, I closed my eyes.

"Is it painful?" The man carefully checked around my body for any wounds.

'He's not alone.'

I could hear footsteps all around me, so I know that I'm surrounded. Just like a wild beast being encircled by hunters.

'And his eyes... they're as soulless as that guy who cut my face.'

1.1.1.

We've been walking for a while now. I could feel the night getting colder as time passed.

'Is it because of the midnight breeze, or the coldness wrapping around my heart?'

What's your name?"

The man asked, and I answered.

"Naruto Uzumaki, what a nice name," the man nodded.

"Is it?" I asked back, hiding the scorn in my heart.

"Yes, it's unique. Your parent's must be creative people," the man said without pause.

'Creative?' I smiled, trying not to scoff. 'I'm pretty sure they named me after food.'

"They must be," I agreed with the man. 'It's not like I can disagree with him, who knows if he'd get angry.'

Speaking about my parents, 'Who are they?'

I never knew them.

'I don't hate them... yet.'

Quite honestly, they don't matter to me anymore.

"Do you know how to get home?" The man asked.

My lips twitched, "No, I don't have parents."

Hearing that, the man paused. "Oh, sorry," he said.

"No, don't worry about it," I replied and calmed myself.

"Do you have a place to go?" The man asked.

'Isn't that obvious?'

I nearly scowled. From his questions, I feel like the man is treating me like an idiot.

'He is part of those people who chased me with weapons, but now he's acting like a good guy.!

It's nauseating.

"No, I don't have anywhere to go," I replied, once again

"I see the man nodsed with a hint of sadeos.!c_rit see his face. He's walking ahead of me, but I'm sure that his expression didn't budge an inch.

'Soulless bastards, I scoffed mentally, but outwardly, my smile didn't waver.

'This is getting fun.'

My heart is racing, it reminds me when I go deep in the forest to hunt.

I don't know where we're going, but I know that I'm jumping into a fire.

But just like how I don't know if I'll return in one piece everytime I hunt, I also don't know what will happen to me after all of this.

Will I be tortured? Will I be saved?

'I don't know, and that's what makes it fun.

A few more minutes, or maybe an hour later, we arrived somewhere.

In front of me, there was a hidden metallic door on the ground. The man used some... what was that, magic?

I don't know, but after he made some weird symbols with his hands, the door appeared out of nowhere.

When the man opened the metallic door, I smiled.

"Go in," the man said, no longer coating his voice with that disgusting candy-like tone.

I didn't have to look to know that his face was like a blank sheet of paper, emotionless and dry.

'He'd do a great job at Halloween.'

I smiled.
