There weren't that many Hired Heathens who would dare mess with the Ryduun Family. As the second strongest family of Heathens there was, many respected them and a whole lot more feared them.

Of course, anomalies that didn't respect or fear anything existed. Strong Man was one, and Goody Two Shoes was another.

It didn't help that their powers matched their self-serving egos and distorted personalities. Having either one of these two hunting you was a nightmare: a bloody one.

Ess didn't fear a conflict with either of them, but unlike most Utility Users outside the Heathen world, these two knew his and his siblings' abilities, and that made all the difference when fighting them.

Popularity came with a few caveats, and one of them was that the Utilities and skills of the celebrity – whatever shape they took – would be quite well-known.
