Maddison took a bite. She couldn't believe it! She'd never tasted anything like it and yet the flavors worked well together! Elias was looking at her intently, waiting for a change in expression.
But the smile on her face remained as she took a second bite, and the third.
When she noticed him staring at her, she stopped eating. A little embarrassed, she put down the bowl.
"Why did you stop?" Elias asked as he tilted his head to the side.
"I… you… why are you staring at me while I'm eating?" She asked in return.
Elias didn't realize what he had done until Maddison pointed it out. He quickly explained himself.
"You seemed to like it."
"And that's a bad thing?" She was confused.
Shouldn't he be happy that she enjoyed his cooking? She took another bite of the noodles as she waited for him to give a more in-depth explanation.
"I've been told in the past that my cooking is, and I quote; 'poison' or 'death itself'."
