Later that day, Maddison and Elias bid Edith farewell. They quickly got into the limousine that was waiting for them in the driveway.
As soon as they got in, Elias cupped her chin and planted a kiss on her lips. She barely had time to react but she didn't pull away.
"What was that for?" She asked curiously when they parted lips.
"A small reward," Elias grinned.
"Oh? Did I do something?"
"For standing up to Agatha and the others," He reminded her.
She'd almost forgotten that it had happened. But how did he find out about it? After all, he wasn't there when it happened.
"Jerome told me when I arrived," He explained, answering the question in her mind.
"Oh," Maddison said as she turned to look out the window, trying her best to hide the blush in her cheeks.
She loved it when he praised or rewarded her. But she didn't want him to see how happy it made her. If not, it may go to his head.
