Holding You Close

Maddison was stunned in place. Elias gripped her wrist tightly, refusing to let her go. It took her a few moments to realize he had regained consciousness fully.

"Elias? What's wrong?" She asked him blankly.

Elias's chest rose and fell rapidly. His heart was pounding in his chest. Maddison tried unsuccessfully to wriggle her wrist out of his grasp.

He was still recovering from his injuries. Any sudden movements could jeopardize his recovery. But Elias didn't care. He pulled her in. The glass in her hands tumbled off the bed and crashed onto the ground.

Glass shards scattered across the floor.

But none of that mattered. Elias wrapped his arms around Maddison, squeezing her tightly. She wanted to get away from him, but she couldn't.

Having him so close. Feeling the warmth radiating from his body, brought her comfort. The last time she held his hand, it was ice cold.

Now it was warm and comforting.
