"Hey… Maddison. Girlfriend, look at me," Anna called out to her as she placed both hands on Maddison's shoulders.
Maddison was looking past her, her mind swirling with worry. However, Anna was eventually able to get her attention once more.
"You can do this. Do you know how many customers have come in, asking where Head Chef Maddison went?"
"None?"
"Wrong! A few, and that's more than none!" Anna replied enthusiastically.
"It was your recipes that made Cassy's bakery and cafe what it is today. Did you forget the long hours you spent inventing recipes in the kitchen? How do you compete with the previous chef for the right to have your dishes on the menu?"
Maddison bit her lip. She thought about what Anna was saying. She was beginning to recall the things she mentioned she had done. There was much of it she had forgotten. She hadn't even focused on cooking and baking in a while.
