Growing up in a cursed world, brought up in a country of warriors and soldiers, Nero was always eager for the day he would awaken his innate ability, and gain the chance to become an Eldrim Card master! Eager for the day he could fight against hell, hail and damnation itself and rid the world of its many curses.
But the day his older brother was framed and sent to the frontlines to die, he woke up to a new truth. The notions of his youth - camaraderie, brotherhood, patriotism - they are all fake, and in the eyes of the powerful he and his ilk were just cannon fodder. In this cursed world, humans were curses too.
He continued to wait for the day he could awaken power and rid the world of its curses - all of them!

The Eldrim Cards Legacy

"Do you know what will happen to all those affected by the Abstract curse?" Nero couldn't help but ask, eventually.

That question got a reaction out of both Noman and Vanessa, who both grimaced.

"It's tough to say. We were all affected by it, though not equally," Vanessa explained. "To be quite frank, I think… I think the curse chose who it wanted to affect."

Vanessa shivered, which was a first for Nero. He had never seen her express fear so clearly before.

"The strangest thing is that according to tests, every one of us is cured now. There's no remaining cursed energy in any of us. But a lot of the Neophytes… it's like they've lost all their drive. It's like, instead of aether, the curse absorbed their emotions."
