Chapter 11 Taro

The ghost blade tried to devour the light essence of Lucifer, whereas Lucifer's absorption magic was trying to absorb the dark essence of Taro. Their swordsmanship looked like art, countless sparkles illuminated the sky. Neither of them had an edge. The main reason for that was both were just gauging and understanding each other also both were stalling for time. Both of them had confidence in their army.

However, sometimes Lucifer looked impatient and Taro took advantage of it. Shawn one of the commanders of Taro was killing humans left and right. His power was unmatched, he was quick and was capable of disappearing from the battlefield. He was assassinating knights who were busy fighting others.

However, when he charged at Roan, he failed to kill him. His attack was easily defended. As that happened Shawn grinned and vanished and then attacked Roan from above. He was a few inches away from making the connection when Roan vanished. He looked around and soon used his energy to create an illusion and disappear.

Once he disappeared he tried to locate Roan, However, an energy blast hit him out of nowhere. His soul suffered great damage. He channeled his essence and created a black wall all around him. But as soon as he did that Roan attacked with his strongest attack. His defensive wall got shattered.

Shawn understood that there were ghosts at the side of humans and he screamed. A voice echoed in the battle it looked like a cry, a cry for help. Taro who was busy fighting Lucifer vanished and reached the peak there were four ghosts around him they quickly created a defensive wall around Taro.

Taro drew his essence towards his eyes and saw countless ghosts killing away his army. Countless thoughts ran through his mind. While he was thinking he saw Shawn he was battered yet was fighting with all that he had. His opponent looked unscathed and it looked like he would soon kill Shawn.

Bang, a loud sound attack pierced through the forest and hit Roan. However, at the same moment, a light ball destroyed the defense created by four ghosts. At the same time, a dark energy ball fell from the sky it had all the conscious force of Karl and many ghosts moved around it to cut the resistance. Before Taro could react the dark energy hit him. The power was so intense that it uprooted the peak. The four ghosts lost their consciousness just by its mere touch.

Taro was gravely injured, before the dust could be cleared Lucifer charged at Taro's commanders and killed them one by one. After he killed the commanders he looked at his subjects. Roan was in a very bad state, same was the case with Karl. He ordered the ghosts to protect them and take them far from here. After that, he went on a killing spree. The subjects of Taro were already at a disadvantage as they were fighting humans and ghosts but with Lucifer joining they lost all hope. Within three minutes all the ghosts were dead. There was no one remaining.

After the dark energy hit Taro he got gravely injured he wanted to charge at the source but realized it would only lead to his death. The only way left for him was to run, he created an illusory Taro and ran. As long as a major chunk of his consciousness was alive he would be safe.

Lucifer reached the stone and revived all the ghosts that were slain with it the strength of his army soared to great heights. He ordered the ghosts and humans to practice and train in fire magic in the forest. He once again created a dome all around it.

Roan and Karl were in the middle of the forest, their injuries were healing. Both of them were in a great mood. Their plan perfectly worked. Roan and Karl pushed a commander and made Taro lose his concentration. While Taro tried to understand the situation on the battlefield. Karl left Roan and went close to Lucifer. Once Taro dropped his guard to attack Roan, Lucifer used his light energy to mask Taro's senses and break the walls. Once that happened a fully charged attack hit Taro. Before he could come out of that all his subordinates died making him flee the battlefield.

The reason they did not pursue Taro was because they had a perfect plan to use Taro to conquer the remaining two Kingdoms.

Taro flew at full speed towards the frozen land, he knew going there could be risky but there was no other alternative. His subjects were enslaved, his power was lost and a part of his consciousness was with the enemy. The reason Taro flew towards frozen land was because he thought that the ghosts who ambushed his army were from frozen land. The reason why he thought that was he saw a few ghosts use ice manipulation which could only be done by ghosts of frozen land.

What Taro did not know as Lucifer was way ahead with his plans, the spy who was sent to the frozen land learned their basic techniques after that when the humans of the blessed land Oden killed themselves to become ghosts. Lucifer ordered some of them to visit the frozen land as subordinates of the spy and learn their art. As some of them used Ice manipulation Taro could not think of any other possibility.

Soon Taro reached the frozen land, he could see the ghosts flying in the air as if they were on the lookout, he could also see defensive walls around the frozen land.

"That boy might have informed Snow King of my escape, so he might have prepared this thing to make me think that they are my allies. Interesting." thought Taro.

"Who are you?" asked the guard.

"Who am I?, Huh, I'm King Taro of the Kingdom of Taro. Ask Lord Snow to meet me immediately, the humans are much stronger than we can think," said Taro.

Even after defeat, his pride and arrogance did not die. He stood tall as if he was doing a favor to ghosts of frozen land. Lord Snow walked out of the frozen land, there were three ghosts around him all of them had an ominous Aura. Taro looked at them and felt a threat. It felt like all four of them were one. Taro realized that Lord Snow was hiding among them and the other three were his doppelgangers. But unlike the face, the other three had copied his Aura and presence. So he felt a threat from all four of them.
