Chapter 12 King Snow

Taro was escorted inside the frozen land, he planned to infiltrate the frozen land and kill his consciousness that way he would be able to take his revenge on the Snow King. A part of his consciousness was with Lucifer so he knew this won't be his end. Also, he would be able to get merits from harming the Snow King.

However, as soon as he entered the castle his soul froze. He could not make any movement. Slowly he realized his thinking too became very slow.

" You're a fool Taro, You not only underestimated that human King, but You also underestimated their will. I had high hopes for you. But you did the complete opposite. Not only did you lose the battle, you gave away your army to him making him a much bigger threat." said King Snow.

Taro felt that his thinking powers came back along with his ability to talk. As soon as he understood Snow King's words he became angry and said " I did not expect that you would betray us and would collaborate with a human to take fellow souls down."

"Fool, till the end. The ghosts that you saw were not my subordinates they were humans of the blessed land of Oden. Your scout network is Trash, They sacrificed themselves to become ghosts and joined that human King to attack."

The reality hit Taro, The thing that humans did to win was the same thing he did to take his revenge. They defeated him by using his Tactic.

"If they were not your subordinates, how come they used snow manipulation?" asked Taro.

"They infiltrated all three lands and learned their magic. They kept a constant watch on our movements. The reason they attacked you and not us is because they wanted a bigger army with the least casualties. By spying they figured out you are not that shrewd and are too overconfident in your abilities Hence they targeted you and took advantage of your flaw. Also, they defeated you before you could use your most powerful attack which would have annihilated most of their ghost army." said Snow King.

"How did you figure all this out?" asked Taro.

"Ever since I got the news that humans are venturing out for food, I made one of my subordinates possess a human and infiltrate the blessed land. His only job was to provide information. When they attacked the city of Ether, I thought they would all die however they did not. That's when I realized that Lucifer was too cautious just like me. According to Intel, they were planning to charge head-on however that was not true. So after they took over the city of Ether, more of my subordinates infiltrated the blessed land. However then too I only learnt about him having an army of ghosts when they did the ritual. That means he inserted his will inside all of those humans and made them forget that. He is not the God, he is a devil. He manipulated all those humans to die." said Snow King.

"So you're saying that humans did not know about the sacrifice. He put a will inside them which got triggered when he said Begin and after that the humans killed themselves and became ghosts."

"Correct, He is too meticulous, His goals do not lie in the annihilation of ghosts or peaceful life. His true intentions are to gain power. And he is using all his subordinates to attain it. That was the reason he wanted to form a soul contract with you and make you his subordinate." said Snow King.

"His wits, emotions and intellect are next level, However, his power is not that great," said Taro.

"The way he is I don't think that power was his true power. He only used the amount of power that was required. His plan looks much more vicious. However, the reason I told you all this was to buy time." said Snow King.

"You...." screamed Taro.

He realized that his consciousness was slowly taking away all his powers, and techniques were absorbed by snow. The Snow King was stealing his very soul and was mixing it with the frozen land.

"This is a favour, this way you won't be dead and you won't be alive you will be part of Frozen Land and won't be a slave to that treacherous human.":. Said Snow King.

Taro wanted to scream but could not, it was too late. Most of his essence and consciousness were already taken. In his final moments, he hoped that Lucifer would kill the Ghost King and free his soul. Just like that the great King Taro lost his existence and became one with the snow.

"What are the reports?"

"They have created an illusory dome, Probably they are learning fire manipulation." said his guard.

"If they are preparing then we too shall prepare. Send battalions one and two to the Kingdom of Taro and ask them to learn back water manipulation. That way we would annihilate their fire squad. Also, inform them to do it covertly and order them to run even if they spot a single human." said Snow.

"As you command, Also the scouts reported that Taro's army was revived and is currently inside the dome of light."

"He is stalling for time to make young ghosts grow, Let him stall, We would not give up on our home advantage. The lust for power would make him commit a mistake. That would be our chance to be the strongest."

"Okay, Then I shall take my leave my lord." said the guard.

The Snow King nodded and closed his eyes. The other three doppelgangers who were with him vanished. Then he went to his throne and started meditating. He focused his consciousness on the ice there he searched for Taro's consciousness. Once he found it he watched his fight with Lucifer he saw the whole battle. He saw the strength and weakness of Taro's army. He saw the formation and ambush of the human army. He also came across the techniques and powers of Taro slowly he started to learn them. They were not useful for his soul but the Snow King liked to know more and learn more.
