Battle of Attrition

When Dante began to slowly stand up from the ground with evident exhaustion, his eyes showed a hint of sadness as the spiritual essence of Beatrice appeared next to him.

It was as if a thin mist revolved around Dante, and from that mist, the shape of his deceased lover was clearly materialized.

"I'm still here, you know?" Beatrice's reflection asked with a playful tone, gently embracing the warlock's shoulders.

"How could I forget?" Dante replied, closing his eyes for a brief second to enjoy Beatrice's touch.

The ghostly woman kept alluding to the idea of Dante using her powers, inherited after their souls fused together in hell.

While Dante had already used it a few times, he hated relying on Beatrice's powers since it only brought painful memories to him.
