Chapter "Lovely Morning"

In the morning, Hamlyn's phone broke the silence with its insistent ringtone. Still lying in bed, Hamlyn reached for his phone and held it to his ear.

"Hello?" murmured Hamlyn groggily.

"Are you still sleeping?" came Sheryl's voice from the other end.

"Is it morning already?" Hamlyn inquired, rubbing his eyes.

"Yes, it is," Sheryl confirmed. Hamlyn sat up in bed, trying to shake off the remnants of sleep, and asked, "Where are you?”

"I'm outside your house," Sheryl's voice came through the phone.

Hamlyn's groggy mind jolted to attention. "Okay, hold on a moment, I'll be right there," he muttered.

He swiftly ended the call, tossed off the bed sheet, and hurried out of bed, heading straight for the door.

With a twist of the handle, he swung it open to find Sheryl waiting there, smiling.

"Welcome, my lady," Hamlyn greeted Sheryl with a gracious bow.

Sheryl acknowledged his courtesy with a warm smile, "Thank you so much."
