A Bag Full of Surprises

Make yourself comfortable,” Xavier said, dropping the shopping bags right in front of me. "Help yourself, it’s all yours.”

The place was stunning—marble floors, high ceilings, and tasteful decor that made it feel elegant but still cozy. I nodded, still a little overwhelmed.

“I’ll clean up a room for you,” Xavier added before disappearing down the hallway.

I sat there, glancing at the ridiculous pile of snacks. Chips, chocolates, candies, gummies, cookies—he’d really bought everything. Shaking my head, I grabbed a bag of sour candy and popped a piece into my mouth, the tangy taste grounding me for a moment.

A few minutes later, Xavier returned, looking much less flustered than I felt. “So, I cleaned up the room for you,” he said, as he handed me one of the shopping bags before walking toward the stairs. “Come on, follow me.”
