Chapter 10

Damien squeezed his fists, and he followed them outside. Terry ran after Mr. Raymond.

"Please wait. Mr. Raymond Please.. We are sorry." Upon hearing Terry's words, Raymond stops.

"What do you want?"

Terry quickly went on his knees and held Raymond's leg.

"We are sorry, Mr. Raymond, please forgive us; my daughter was just acting stupid; she never met what she said."

Raymond raised eyebrows.

"Oh, she was acting stupid, you say.

Yes, Mr. Raymond. In fact, she has been suffering from depression. Please forgive her."

Raymond landed a heavy slap on Terry's face.

"What do you take me for?"

"You think I'm stupid to believe all this; your useless daughter clearly insulted me, and she must pay for that."

Megan couldn't stand Raymond anymore, so she spoke out.

"Why did you hit my father? You know I got you back your contract; why are you pretending Mr. Raymond? Say the truth."

Doris tried to cover Megan's mouth, but she was too strong for her.

"I don't want your money or any apology from you; just tell everyone the truth."

Upon hearing Megan's words, Raymond's face flushed. He forced his leg out of Terry's hand and moved closer to Megan. He raised his hand to slap Megan. Megan closed her eyes for the impact, but Damien stepped in and held Raymond's hands.

"How dare you hold my hand? I can see you clearly want to die. I will not go easy on you this time around."

Damien didn't say anything. Raymond could see Damien's veins popping, so he decided to step back, not wanting to engage with him.

"I'm giving you one hour. Come to my house and apologize. Bring Megan's belongings with you; she is going to be my new housemaid."

Damien was done with this madness.

"I'm giving you 30 minutes to honor our bet and pray my wife forgives you."

Raymond was not moved by Damien's words. He entered his car and yelled at them.

"Before I get home, I want to see all of you at my gate."

Terry couldn't move; he was still on his knees, and Doris was just standing still; her eyebrows were

raised

"How am I going to locate Mr. Raymond's house? I have never been to his house before."

He murmured to himself. Terry quickly ran inside the house to ask Dennis for help while Doris held Megan's hand; she must get married to Mr. Raymond today. She can't lose her statue in the family and live a street cat life afterwards. Megan brought this on herself anyway for believing these bastard words.

Damien called Benjamin

Hello, young master."

"Bring me Raymond Jefferson; I will be waiting for you at the location you sent me yesterday. Be fast about it."

Benjamin could feel the anger in his voice.

Okay, young master, I will be with you shortly."

Damien ended the call and stepped toward Megan.

"I know you got the contract. Don't worry, I believe Mr. Raymond will come beg you soon."

Dorris didn't know what to say; she can't believe this pauper successfully manipulated Megan's head, and now Megan is going insane like him.

"Shut your mouth. You are going to pay for this; don't think you can go scot-free."

Megan stares at Damien; it seems he is the only one who believes her. He trusted her about getting the contract back, and now he is trying to release her pressure, but it's over now. Mr. Raymond played a fool of them, and there is no way he is going to agree about it. This is Damien's fault; he should've kept quiet instead of making a deal with Mr. Raymond. Now she doesn't seem to have a choice but to marry that asshole.

"Where you sent to ruin my life, Did the devil sent you to me?"

Damien was paused by Megan's words. He understands her this time, and he will take full responsibility and make things right.

"I am coming back."

Damien walked away.

Dorris looks at Megan, irritated by his existence.

"Can you see? He has left you behind. I can't believe you were this stupid."

Megan was downhearted by her mom's words. She said those words, but she didn't picture Damien running away. She was actually thinking that he was an honest man.

She faces Damien and roars.

Do not even think of running away. Mr. Raymond is going to find you and squeeze you to death.

Damien puts on a mask; he doesn't want to be recognized by Raymond. He was surprised he could hear Raymond's quivering and shaky voice already. He entered the room, and everyone, including Benjamin, bowed down to greet him.

Raymond's eyes widen with fear; he can't believe the almighty Benjamin would bow his head to greet a boy. He had only met Benjamin once, and it was an ugly scene for everyone. We were afraid of him because he was the personal assistant to Lord Barron. Raymond knows the trouble that awaits him; he quickly crawls on his knees, moving in Damien's direction.

"Please, Sir, whatever I have done, please forgive me. I won't do it again."

Damien clenched his fists as he landed multiple heavy slaps on Raymond's face.

"Slap!"

"Slap!"

"Slap!"

"Slap!"

Raymond's face was swollen with blood coming out of his nose, and his eye turned red as tears were about to come out.

Raymond believes his son must have offended the young man. "Please forgive me, sir. I know my son must have offended you. Please let me go and..."

He didn't finish his statement when Damien landed another slap on his face. Raymond fell to the ground; he couldn't feel his face anymore.

"Slap!"

Raymond wonders what his son must have done this time around to result in the kind of suffering he's getting.

Damien deepened his voice.

"Why did you disrespect and insult my crush? You even have the guts to call her names!" Raymond's mouth was agape in shock, and his hand was shaking. He never knew Megan had such a powerful admirer ; he is definitely going to die.

His forehead was soaked with sweat. He quickly came up with a lie.

"I'm sorry, my Lord. I'm sorry I never knew she was your lover. I only insulted her useless husband. He is the reason all this happened—that bastard put Megan in this mess. I swear. I will deal with him and make such he disappear from Megan's life completely."

Damien squeezed his fists and ordered Benjamin's guards to flog Raymond with fifty lashes in his buttocks.

Raymond's heart jumped hearing that; he wanted to plead, but the men seized him immediately and slapped him with fifty strokes of the cane in his buttocks.

Raymond lies helpless on the floor, tears all over his face as he begs for mercy. Damien was satisfied.

He looked at Raymond disgustedly, and he gave Benjamin his last order before he left the room. Benjamin walks closer to Raymond.

"Raise up your head and listen." Raymond managed to lift up his head.

"You're going to apologize to Megan; make sure she accepts your apology before 50 minutes; every five minutes you waste I will be buying your company shares from all of you investors."

Raymond was shocked; he thought his punishments were over, but they had only begun.

"If your apology isn't accepted before the end of the fifty minutes given to you, I will personally terminate your contract with Globex Corporation and inform all the top investors in Blue Isno never to do business with you. And the bank will be coming for their loan."

Raymond knew he was done; he managed to get up, but his buttocks still hurt badly. He couldn't move his legs.

Benjamin asked one of his guards to drive Raymond to Megan's location. He gave him a number to call once Megan forgives him.

The car stopped at Sir Bernard House. The men dragged Raymond out of the car; he couldn't waste any time, so he quickly ran into Sir Bernard House, his hand still holding his buttocks. Terry was on his knees, begging his father, when Raymond entered the room.
