Chapter 14: Yu Xue’s match

Though the ancient phoenix said that, he isn't able to go to the center of the galaxy or anywhere, since he was stuck in this lowly place for a reason that he doesn't want even to recall.

Everyone from the main fleet, including the admiral, was terrified out of their wits. One could imagine the power of this bird-like creature that they encountered, to be able to decimate multiple starships that are equipped with top-notch defenses using only a single attack. The creature didn't even look like it expended any energy at all.

The strength of the aura that the bird creature exerted was even stronger than the strength they felt from the emperor of the Milky Way.

The admiral gathered his courage and directly appeared outside the ship, standing in the void. "Senior, we didn't mean to disturb your rest. I would like to sincerely apologize for the insolence and ignorance of my subordinates. They deserved to die by the senior's hands." The admiral bowed at a 90-degree angle when he said this.

"As long as you know your faults, ant. Now get lost while I'm still too lazy to deal with all of you," the phoenix said with disgust.

"Senior, if I may request politely that you don't intervene with our business with this blue planet here? I specifically came to avenge my subordinates when this planet attacked them out of nowhere. I don't know if the senior would mind?" The admiral said with emotion as if he was enacting actual justice.

The reason that the admiral dared to request such a thing was that based on his analysis, it seemed that this bird creature couldn't seem to leave that sun star it was on for some unknown reason. Otherwise, all of them would've been annihilated already the moment they offended it.

The ancient phoenix was surprised by the courage of this insect to request anything from him. Instead of getting offended the moment the phoenix heard that it was about the blue planet, he was even somewhat happy inside, though he didn't show any expressions at all. "Oh? Do you want to deal with that blue planet called Earth? Then be my guest. I don't care what you insects are up to as long as you don't disturb me. Now do your thing and get lost, and if I see you again, I'll extract all your souls and make you suffer a fate worse than death."

With that, the phoenix's head once again disappeared into the sun star.

The admiral returned to the ship, "Prepare the death ray cannon. Since the sun star is out of the question, we'll use our own reserved energies to fire the weapon once."

The admiral decided to do this the moment he got approval from that bird. When he used his own senses, he sensed that the barrier surrounding that blue planet seemed to have weakened by a huge margin from the bird's attack earlier. One fully charged attack from the death ray should be enough to penetrate that barrier.

The starships got into position, and using energy-transferring arrays, all of the combined energy reserves of each starship were transferred to the flagship's death ray cannon. The bottom part of the starship is where the main cannon was housed, and the compartment opened, revealing a large weapon with a cylindrical barrel that appeared lowered and exposed to the void.

After all the preparations, that weapon was then aimed somewhere in the middle of the Pacific Ocean on Earth.

All of the starships, including the weapon, could be clearly seen from Earth when one looks up to the sky.

The people residing in Hawaii, however, were in complete and total chaos because it was very obvious that the massive weapon was clearly aimed at them.

There's no doubt that if that massive weapon fires at this part of the Earth, Hawaii would cease to exist, including everything in it.

"Quick, evacuate everyone!" People with authority shouted frantically to aid the evacuation and save as many people as they could. Alas, it's a futile effort as this massive weapon's hit radius should be as large as the country of Australia. Even if given a short amount of time before the weapon fires, no aircraft nor naval vessel is able to outrun the hit radius of this weapon, not to mention the shockwaves that will accompany it after the initial impact.

"Sir, the weapon is ready to fire," the assistant told the admiral.

"Fire," the admiral ordered.

All of the accumulated energy gathered within the weapon itself, a red ball of light gathering at a fast rate from the inside of the barrel of the weapon.

After 3 seconds, a red beam of energy crackling with red-colored thunder shot out from the weapon and instantly hit the dim barrier covering Earth's atmosphere. The barrier only lasted for a single second before the part where it was attacked shattered into particles, getting penetrated by the unstoppable beam of energy equivalent to the full-strength attack of a half-step universal overlord being. The beam of energy did not stop at all and kept going straight, daring to blast a hole through Earth.

The people in Hawaii froze as death was imminent within the next split second when a young girl that's crying closed her eyes.

But she didn't feel any pain at all; she slowly opened her eyes, only to find herself on an unfamiliar land by the coast of a beach. In front of her was the giant red beam of light still drilling through Earth. Alongside the young girl were mobs of people also from Hawaii; all of them were puzzled as to why they suddenly appeared elsewhere, narrowly avoiding inescapable death. Some of the more knowledgeable ones immediately identified that they appeared in the country of Japan.

A couple of seconds earlier, Xu Han was watching the show with interest. "It seems that disciples of mine are only watching on the sidelines. Does he not really care about his fellow people of Earth? Or did he just forget to save people?"

The beam may be traveling at the speed of light, but it was still slower than a snail's movement in Xu Han's eyes. When the beam was only 1 km from sea level before impact, Xu Han waved his hand and teleported every single living creature from that tiny island to another island that was only 5 times bigger than the island they came from.

The weapon's energy lasted for another 10 seconds before it got depleted and stopped firing. The red beam from the weapon drilled all through the crust of the earth on that specific spot, but when the beam reached the mantle, it could not proceed any further and was stopped by another barrier that was 100 times stronger than the one that was protecting the atmosphere of Earth.

"Descend and make contact!" The admiral shouted.

All of the soldiers and relevant personnel rallied to their respective aircraft designed for entering and invading planets.

Just as they entered Earth's atmosphere, all of them were surrounded by thick black smoke, but in reality, it was a shadow enveloping them.

"You invaded my home, did you ask for my permission?" Yu Xue coldly stated as he slowly appeared from the void in midair.

"You're the one who destroyed my troops? Who gave you the guts?" The admiral responded. "Such cheap tricks manipulating the darkness in front of me?"

A sword appeared in the Admiral's hand and slashed the darkness to pieces in an extremely fast manner, coupled with his spatial and thunder element, the admiral managed to dissipate the darkness by sending out space blades accurately, which then devoured the darkness into the void.
