Chapter 7: The first contact
Alex decided to publish and play his game. He was looking forward to trying out his first Marvel game, and seeing what it was like to interact with the characters and setting he had created. He told G.A.M.E.:
"Publish and play my game."
G.A.M.E. Told him:
"You have published and played your game. Your game has been uploaded to the Game Masters network, where it can be viewed and played by other users. You will also be able to view and play other users' games. Your game has been started in story mode , with the normal difficulty level. Are you ready to start your adventure?"
Alex nodded. He was ready to start his adventure. The sphere lit up and a voice spoke to him:
"Welcome to Marvel: Rise of the Phoenix. You are Alex, a young man who has just discovered that he has the power of the Phoenix, a cosmic entity that seeks a balance between life and death. Your life has changed forever, and you will have to "You will face many challenges and dangers. Will you be able to control your power and save the world? Let the game begin."
The voice fell silent and the sphere projected an image in the air. It was the image of the X-Mansion, the setting of his game. Alex saw that the image was three-dimensional and that he could move within it. It was like I was inside the game. Alex was surprised and excited. It was incredible.
Alex saw that at the bottom of the image there was a bar with several icons. They were the system icons, which allowed you to access the different functions of the game. Alex recognized the icons for level, experience, skills, inventory, combat, stealth, dialogue, choice, karma, reputation, romance, alignment, achievements, trophies, statistics and ranking. Alex thought there were a lot of options and he would have to learn how to use them.
Alex also saw that at the top of the image there was a bar with the game title, chapter, time, and objective. Alex read that the title of the game was Marvel: Rise of the Phoenix, that the chapter was the first, that the time was 10 hours and that the objective was to reach the X-Mansion and meet Charles Xavier.
Alex decided that the first thing he should do was get to the X-Mansion and meet Charles Xavier. He thought that this could begin the story of him and his relationship with the X-Men. Alex looked around him and saw that he was in a forest, near the entrance to the X Mansion. Alex headed towards the entrance, hoping that no one would see him.
Alex arrived at the entrance and saw that there was a metal fence with a sign that said: School for Young Talents. Alex thought it was a cover to hide the true nature of the X-Mansion. Alex approached the gate and tried to open it. However, the gate was closed with a padlock. Alex became frustrated and thought he would have to find another way in.
Alex remembered that he had the power of the Phoenix, which allowed him to manipulate fire and cosmic energy. Alex thought he could use his power to melt the lock and open the gate. However, he also remembered that his power was unstable and that he could lose control if he became angry or scared. Alex wondered if he should use his power or not.
Alex decided that he should use his power, but carefully. He thought it was an emergency situation and that he had no choice. Alex concentrated and tried to summon fire and cosmic energy. Alex felt his body heat up and his eyes turn gold. Alex saw a flame appear in his hand and move towards the lock. Alex waited for the lock to melt and the gate to open.
Alex saw the lock melt and the gate open. Alex was happy and thought he had made it. However, he also saw the flame grow larger and spread over the fence. Alex got scared and thought he had lost control. Alex tried to put out the flame, but couldn't. Alex saw the flame turn into a fire and threaten to burn the forest. Alex was horrified and thought he had caused a disaster.
Alex heard a siren and saw a car approaching. It was a black car with a red X on the hood. Alex recognized the car as the X-Men car. Alex thought the X-Men had come to stop the fire and capture him. Alex wondered if he should run or stay.
Alex decided that he should stay and face the consequences. He thought it was the fairest and bravest thing. Alex waited for the X-Men to get out of the car and talk to him.
Alex saw the X-Men get out of the car and talk to him. There were four of them: Charles Xavier, Jean Grey, Scott Summers and Logan. Alex recognized them by their appearance and their skills. Alex was impressed and nervous. They were the characters in his game, and they were in front of him.
Charles Xavier spoke to him with a calm and kind voice:
"Hello, Alex. I'm Charles Xavier, the principal of this school. I know who you are and what you can do. Don't worry, we're not going to hurt you. We just want to help you. "Can you come with us, please?"
Alex listened to him with attention and respect. He was Charles Xavier, the leader of the X-Men and the founder of the School for Talented Youngsters. He was the man who had offered her support and his trust. Alex nodded and said:
"Yes, sir. I'm going with you."
Charles Xavier smiled at him and said:
"Thank you, Alex. You are very brave and very noble. Come on, we will take you to the X Mansion and we will explain everything to you. I promise you that everything will be fine."
Charles Xavier made a sign to him and invited him to get into the car. Alex approached the car and saw that the other three X-Men were looking at him with curiosity and suspicion. They were Jean Grey, Scott Summers and Logan. They were the characters that interested him the most and that affected him the most. Alex wondered what his relationship with them would be like.
Alex got into the car and sat in the back seat, next to Jean Grey. Jean Gray looked at him with a soft, compassionate look. It was Jean Grey, Alex's mentor and the Phoenix's host. She was the girl that she liked and that she felt a special connection with. Alex blushed and said:
"Hello, Jean. I'm Alex. I like your name. And your power. And your suit. And your hair. And your eyes. And your smile. And you."
Jean Gray was surprised and laughed. It was Alex, Alex's hero and the new host of the Phoenix. It was the boy she was attracted to and who felt a special connection with her. Jean Gray told him:
"Hello, Alex. You are very nice. And very sincere. And very handsome. And very powerful. And very special. And I like you."
Alex and Jean Gray smiled at each other and held hands. They felt good together. They felt like the Phoenix.
Scott Summers and Logan saw them and got angry. They were Scott Summers, Scott Summers' leader and Jean Grey's boyfriend. And Logan, Logan's rival and Jean Grey's suitor. They were the characters that bothered him the most and challenged him the most. Alex wondered what his rivalry with them would be like.
Scott Summers said to him with a serious and stern voice:
"Hey, kid. Let her go. She's my girlfriend. And you're an intruder. And an arsonist. And a danger. And I don't like you."
Logan told him with a rough and aggressive voice:
"Hey, kid. Leave her. She's m
