Jiro POV
The smell of corruption from Absalom Sinsworth and Zillah Scarlatti made him want to gag. He tuned out the shouts of clashing shifters outside. He’d had the villagers either evacuate down the mountain or shut themselves up in their homes, knowing the fight was going to get ugly quickly.
His eyes followed Cyran and Absalom in their dance of destruction.
To his practiced and keen eye, Cyran was holding back. Why? Was it Hades taking on the appearance and the power of the Deathwolf? Was it fear? Was it a last shred of feeling for his former master? Or was it strategic? Was he trying to get Absalom to make a mistake so he could launch an all-out attack?
Naomi leaned forward. SHE certainly had no qualms about giving Hades everything he deserved. But ultimately, it was Cyran’s battle. That was why everyone stood back and didn’t interfere.
