Chapter 11: Head On

“Get rid of them,” I commanded Timur as I walked back to the car. The driver drove past the main gate of the Fairfield homes straight to my mansion. 

 

I got out of the car and felt the hairs on the back of my neck rise. Someone was watching me. I listened in and felt his intake of breath and the racing of his heartbeat. The familiarity of it all made me realize that it was Viktor's scent. The little brat was waiting for me to come home. I turned in the direction where he stood and I heard his loud gasp. In seconds he had turned around and fled. Out of the four of them, Viktor seemed to be the fearless and careless one. 

I shook my head as I walked into the mansion and found the new maids waiting for me. 

“Welcome home, sir,” they said as I took off my coat and handed it to one of them.
