Chapter 35: Irina's Threat

“What do you mean, Irina?” I indicated that we should sit down by gesturing to the couch behind us.

“Don't play stupid, Nikolai,” she seethed, pointing a finger at my chest.

“I would rather you tell me what you mean. I hate guessing games,” I asserted.

Her eyes widened, shocked that I had used my assertive tone, and slowly sat down. “Nikolai, last night your cousin Cassius visited me.”

“What do you mean?” I leaned forward on the couch.

“He was waiting for me as I left the beauty parlor. He mentioned your name in the hope that I would be moved. But I could sense the kind of person he was. One that caused trouble and my instincts told me that someone was not right with him. I brushed him off but not before he shouted, ‘Nikolai is only after your sons.’”

“That f*cking bastard,” I cursed.
