Chapter 20: Not a Date

"This is the dress you should wear tonight." Grace pulled a purple dress from my closet and laid it on the bed.

"It's a little fancy, isn't it?"

"My brother doesn't do anything halfway. If he's taking you on a date, it'll be nice."

"This isn't a date." I huffed and put my hands on my hips.

Grace shrugged one shoulder and went back to the closet. "If you say so."

I paced around the room. My wolf was restless and agitated. Our little encounter in the cemetery had me confused. For weeks he'd been pushing me away and suddenly he wanted to get to know me?

"He told you to wear something nice, didn't he?"

I nodded and plucked at the silky fabric of the purple dress.

"Then it's a date."

"It's not."

"Oh, I have the perfect dress." Grace backed out of the closet and spun to face me, holding the dress by the hanger and draping it over her arm.
