Chapter 22: Nightmares

"N-no…"

My eyes shot open. I clutched my sheet and blanket to my chin. He sounded like he was sleeping talking again.

"Laurel!"

Groaning, I kicked the blankets off and found my slippers. He'd done me a favor earlier that night and saved me from getting kidnapped. I couldn't let him suffer through another night of nightmares.

Finn tossed and turned on the couch, the blanket wrapped all around his legs. He was wearing only boxers and the blanket no longer served as a cover for him.

"Finn," I hissed, standing over him on the couch.

"Laurel… no…" he thrashed this way and that. His red hair clung to his face and neck.

"Wake up. Please wake up." I raised my voice a little.

He just grunted and twisted himself up in the blanket even more.

I bit my lower lip and leaned over the couch. Grabbing his shoulder, I shook him. "Come on, wake up!"

Suddenly, Finn's arms snaked around me and tightened like a boa constrictor. He pulled me off my feet.
