Aiden’s response to my message showed up a day later.

*Callum wants to meet and lay all this to rest. Name the time and place.*

I tapped my thumb against the edge of my phone. Short and to the point. In my few interactions with Callum, he was never so succinct. Quickly, I texted Luce and my underbosses to join me in my office.

“I know that face.” Vivian sat on the edge of my desk. She poked my cheek.

“He didn’t specify that we should meet alone and he’s giving me control over where and when we meet. Either he has something up his sleeve or…”

“The whole thing is a ruse?”
