Nowhere To Run To

Jules' pov

Despite how much I pulled on the doorknob while screaming desperately, it didn't budge. My heart was racing fast and my fingers were trembling. The fear I was experiencing was so crippling, it was making my legs wobble but I refused to give up trying.

"Well, at this point, I don't think there's any point in still keeping this pretense up, don't you think so?" The sound of the principal speaking made the scream I was about to let scream to get stuck in my throat.

I jostled the door knob and let out another scream right before he continued. "Also, can you stop screaming? Hasn't it dawned on you that it's completely pointless?" He demanded and my lips wobbled as I blinked at the door, desperately willing for it to magically open.

But it didn't.
