Home?

"Huft! 17... 18!" Odin let out a short breath as he continued to squad-jump in a park near the hospital.

"... 19 ... 20!"

Right after the twentieth count, a notification sound was heard and along with it a [System] screen appeared.

Odin sat on one of the park benches while catching his breath and so did Kai.

"Hahh ... hahh ...! Hahhh ...! F-Fuck! Haaahh ...! H-Hey, alter ego ... stop it y-you jerk ... hahhh! I f-feel like I'm g-going to die!" said Kai swearing while panting.

Even though Odin was take control of Kai's legs and taking him on a 2 km run, they still shared the same organ. But Odin deliberately ignored Kai's words and just rolled his right eye boredly.

After all, it was all Kai's fault for neglecting his body until it became waste — Odin thought in annoyance.

DING!

[Congratulations!]

[Daily Mission Has Completed!]

[Received Wheat Bread x1 and Mineral Water x1]

DING!

[Unable to Find Reward]

[The Reward Has Canceled]

[...]

Odin just stared silently at the blank screen in front of him as he breathed heavily. It felt like Odin wanted to start swearing when he knew that his reward had been canceled, whereas he hoped to get water as one of the gifts promised by [System].

"Haahh...! Is this fucking [System] broken again?" Odin swears in resignation.

But not long after, the [System] notification sounded again along with another screen appearing in front of him.

DING!

[Replacing Reward!]

[New Reward Has Been Determined]

[All Status Points +1]

A wide grin immediately appeared on Odin's face when he read those words. With a happy feeling he then speaks.

"Open status window!"

[Access Permitted!]

DING!

[STATUS WINDOW]

[Name: Kai Donovan]

[Level: 2]

[Race: Human]

[Stamina Bar: 88%]

[16 years old]

[Title: Leywin Morgan's Sandbag]

[POWER STATUS]

[Strength: 3 | Agility: 3 | Resistance: 3 | Dexterity: 1 | Spiritual power: -10 | Luck: -5]

Odin frowned when he saw this boy's level. It had not increased since the last time he successfully completed the first mission.

Perhaps the level would only increase every time he successfully completed the main mission — Odin thought.

However, when Odin saw the status part, he immediately grinned. At least this is better — he thought.

Shortly after, his grin disappeared and was replaced with a wondered look. Odin saw the part of the [Spiritual power] and [Luck] did not increase at all.

Then he just sighs deeply while smiling resignedly and says, "Haahh, maybe the [System] is broken again."

Odin was getting used to the [System] having errors. After all, this [System] was basically broken.

"Close the status window," he said again.

ZAP!

Afterward, the [System] screen disappeared. Odin then leaned his back against the back of a park bench while looking up at the clear sky.

The park looked quiet because it was already eleven o'clock in the afternoon and the sun looked very hot today. However, Odin had a different opinion.

When Odin was in his thoughts, suddenly Kai spoke up, "I should go home."

Odin who was still looking up at the sky and replied, "I know, a new home will feel better. Ah, I hope I can get one that is like Valhalla."

"No," Kai said, "I mean, I should have to go back to my auntie's house."

Odin immediately got up and straightened his back. He then frowned disapprovingly.

"Are you fucking kidding me?" asked Odin incredulously.

"I'm serious," Kai said quickly.

Hearing Kai's answer, Odin immediately laughed cynicly.

"I really don't get it," Odin said between his laughs in a sneering tone.

"You'll never understand, after all you're just an alter ego. But let me tell you one thing ... I have no one else but them and even though they treat me badly, I have nowhere else to go," Kai explained.

After getting humiliated by those pigs, why would this boy still want to come back to them — Odin thought.

Odin smiled in sneer and then replied, "Just make a new place to live, then the problem is solved without having to go back to that pigsty ..."

"... didn't you say that I'd made so much wealth yesterday?" said Odin casually.

However, on the other hand Kai also had his own reasons. He then sighed as he held his face with his left hand.

"Ugh, my bad! Did I forget telling you the most important part of it? You know ... It's not just about money," Kai said, "It's more like me not being of legal age to live alone."

"Legal age? What do you mean?" asked Odin while frowned in confusion.

"I'm talking about laws in New York, which has a minimum age of 17 to live apart from family or guardian parents," said Kai, "And I'm still 16 years old, so it'll take a year for me to be in legal age."

Now, Odin was becoming more clueless with the humans' mind. They create rules to make their life difficult and then complain to the Gods about how difficult their life is. What a funny — Odin thought.

Odin let out a resigned sigh and said, "So are you going back to the pigsty now?"

"Well," Kai said straightforwardly, "After all, those pigs — ahem! I-I mean they're the only one of my family. Moreover, that house is my mom's left."

"Huft! Fine ... we go back," said Odin resignedly.

For a moment, Odin sighed and then rose up. He stretched his right arm and neck, before walking home.

The distance between the garden near the hospital and Kai's house was not too far, so it only took about twenty minutes by walk.

Then finally, here he stood, in front of a house door where the middle-aged woman was sitting on the porch with various cakes and a cup of tea on the porch table.

On the other hand, when the woman saw Kai casually walking through the gate, then she immediately stood up.

"You still dare to come back after making a fuss with me, huh? You son of a bitch!" the woman snapped.

Kai immediately tapped one side of his thigh, signaling Odin to stop walking. Then Odin according to Kai's wants.

Kai just fell silent while looking down to the ground, until he felt a hot liquid hit his face. That made Kai groan in pain, meanwhile Odin only grimaced when he felt the heat on his right eye and got him blurry.

Not long after, a slap suddenly hit the side of Kai's right face.

SLAP!

"If you want to come in, you have to apologize to me," the woman said.

Odin was stunned with his right hand clenched in anger. This was the first time he had received such an insult, especially from the half-pig in front of him — Odin growled inside.

However, Kai's reaction was just the opposite. He smiled pleadingly as he looked up at his aunt's face.

Then he said, "F-Forgive me, A-Auntie. I-I was so rude a-and lost my mind y-yesterday ..."

"I-I promise, something like yesterday will never happen again," Kai said convincingly.

Odin really couldn't understand the mind of this boy who shared the body with him. Then Odin tightened his right fist even more as he caught a long breath. Alright, hold up — Odin said to himself.

However, the next sentence from the woman in front of him really made Odin's widened his right eye. At that time, his anger seem to explode.

"Do that while kissing my feet and I will consider your apology."
