Putting It All In Perspective

Imani felt bad about what had happened with Pastor McDonald. It was disappointing that everyone in church was giving her sympathetic looks. She knew the story had gotten out about the disastrous date. Pastor McDonald had suddenly resigned and headed out of state to a new location. Imani prayed that the pastor would change his life.

Despite what had happened, the incident brought her closer to Noah. Her father did not go into details with the congregation about the events of that night but explained the way forward. Imani was relieved she did not have to face him again. Imani helped Alisha serve a few customers at the cafe as a smile came across her face thinking about Noah. She was happy that her father was more friendly to Noah these days and seemed to develop a liking for him.

“You are in a good mood,” Alisha teased.

“Most certainly,” Imani giggled.

“I can’t believe the eventful night you had a few days ago,” Alisha continued.
