One year later
Hannah touched her stomach and rubbed it tenderly. She looked at the pregnancy test again ensuring she was not dreaming. She was pregnant and in awe, she was carrying Thomas’ child. She always wanted to be a mother and now her prayers were answered. She could not wait to share the wonderful news with Thomas. She smiled when her cell phone rang. She knew it was him. Perhaps, he was concerned because she was not feeling well before he left for work. This was one of the many things she loved about him. He would do anything for her.
“Hey Honey,” Hannah said when she picked up the phone.
“Hey baby,” how are you?” Thomas asked.
“I am fine,” Hannah said not wanting to let the cat out of the bag. She felt she needed to share the news in person.
“I will be home soon. I will bring us takeout. You need your rest so there will be no cooking,” Thomas said packing up to leave the office.
“Thank you. I will set the table until you arrive,” Hannah said.
