Into The Deep, Chapter 3

Megan's parents and two sisters split up to find her when morning came. While they were searching, Megan swam through a bunch of kelp, and one of them grabbed her wrist. Megan pulled as hard as she could and broke her wrist free. After being free, Megan swam to the surface and saw the Vikings' and pirates' boats coming. Megan swam under the water so the Vikings and pirates would miss her. Then Megan swam back home, and her family was happy to see her. After her family noticed her, Megan swam out of the palace and up to the surface. When Megan's mother, Katie, got back to where she last saw Megan, she noticed that Megan was gone again. Katie said, "Megan's gone again? We have to find her."

Megan was sitting on a rock, playing the flute with her tail in the water, when she saw the Vikings' and pirates' boats pass by. Megan followed their ships to a rock shaped like a skull. The Vikings rowed around the rock while the pirates sailed inside. Megan had to make a choice, so she went under the water and swam into Skull Rock. Megan slowly swam through a bunch of kelp and was getting scared. Megan said, "Creepy." When Megan swam through the kelp, she saw a bunch of skeletons at the bottom of the water. Megan swam faster and caught up with the pirates.

Megan swam up and saw the pirates' ship docked inside the rock. Megan noticed the pirates looking around while Captain Joseph was still on the boat. Megan looked aboard the ship to see if Captain Joseph was okay and saw him throwing darts at pictures of his family. He hit his mom in the head, his older brother on his arm, and his dad on his leg. Captain Joseph said, "They should be lucky I'm not using voodoo dolls of them." Then he sat down and started to think about what he had seen earlier. Captain Joseph said, "I know I saw somebody, but who could leave a rock so handsomely?" Megan smiled because Captain Joseph was thinking of her. Then she let go of the ship and went back into the water. Captain Joseph heard a splash of water but didn't see anybody when he looked off his boat. Megan slowly swam back through the kelp, but it took longer this time. Megan said, "I don't remember this much kelp when I swam in." Megan pushed the kelp out of the way while swimming through it, but one didn't feel like kelp. Then she looked up, and many eels looked down at her. Megan said, "That's not kelp; they're eels." Megan quickly swam for her life, and the electric eels chased after her.

Megan swam out of Skull Rock and deeper into the sea, hoping to make it to Atlantica. Then, one eel grabbed her with his tail, and he growled at her. Megan got scared and punched the eel's face. Then the eel set her free, and Megan swam into a cave, but the eels went in after her. Megan swam out of the cave and headed for The Cave of Darkness. Before she left, she whistled, and her killer whale friend came. Three eels swam out of the cave after Megan and into another one. Then, the cave's entrance shut, and the eels fell to the bottom. They didn't know that they got eaten by a killer whale. After the killer whale left, the other three electric eels went after Megan. Megan swam into The Cave of Darkness, hoping she'd lose the electric eels inside. Megan slowly swam through The Cave of Darkness and was having trouble finding a way out since it was so dark, but then the cave lit up. Megan looked behind her and saw the eels coming after her. Megan swam faster, noticed the light in the ceiling, and witnessed a hole in it. Then Megan swam out of The Cave of Darkness through the hole and shut the hole with a giant rock so the eels couldn't escape.

Megan swam away as fast as she could to get back home, and when she arrived there, her family was happy to see her. Then they all hugged each other and went to their rooms to go to bed. Megan waited until the whole ocean was asleep. Megan snuck through her window when they were, swam up to the surface, and saw that the Vikings and pirates were sleeping. Since they were asleep, Megan crawled onto their boats and looked around. Megan crawled around the pirates' ship and went below deck. When Megan got below deck, she took the music box she found the last time she was aboard, opened and listened to it. When the song ended, Megan crawled above deck and jumped back in the water. Captain Joseph heard a splash of water and looked over the side of the boat but didn't see anything. Megan was hiding behind a rock, and when Captain Joseph left, Megan jumped back into the water.

-Megan swam over to the Vikings' ship and crawled around. Megan looked around, saw Captain Kayla's drum, pounded on it once with her hand, and laughed. Then, she left the drum alone while checking out the Vikings' oars. Megan saw Captain Kayla coming because she heard somebody playing her drum. Before Captain Kayla saw her, Megan jumped off the side of the boat and went back under the water. Captain Kayla listened to a splash of water and looked around but saw nothing. Then Captain Kayla went back to sleep, and Megan went back home.

When morning came, the Vikings and pirates went off to sea. While the Vikings and pirates were out at sea, Megan swam up to the surface and saw that she had missed them, so she had to find them. Megan returned under the water and started looking for the Vikings and pirates. While Megan was looking for the Vikings and pirates, her mother looked for her all over the ocean. Megan began to sing while she swam through the sea. Megan swam to the surface, reached her tail up, and looked at it while singing. Megan sang about how people know much about the sea, whether they have fins or feet. Then Megan swam with a pack of sea turtles while she sang. She then sang about how she lives in the sea, but what's to know about the culture outside? They all swam by many snapping clams while Megan sang. Megan sang about how clams clap, but don't scare her. Then Megan jumped out of the water and dived back in.

Megan swam right through an underwater tunnel while singing when she got back in. Megan sang about how swimming under the water is a great way to explore, and she'll show her family she can do it. Then Megan swam through many different types of fish, swimming together in one big school. Megan sang about how the sea is her home, and she's sure her family misses her. Then she sang about how she'll be home at Atlantica before sundown. Katie then went down to the ocean floor and sang along with Megan. Katie picked a flower and looked at it while singing since it reminded her of Megan. Katie sang about how much she missed Megan and said she would find her and bring her home so Megan wouldn't be alone. Katie didn't see Megan, so she swam away and looked elsewhere. Then Katie swam with manatees and sang to them while Megan swam underneath the belly of a humpback whale and then swam through Jellyfish Point. Katie sang about how Megan's home was with her, and she wondered where she could be. Katie then returned to the ocean floor and looked at the flowers that reminded her of Megan while she sang. Katie sang about how Atlantica is where it should be since they belong together at Atlantica.

Megan then swam to the surface and sang about living in the sea. And how she loves its creatures and treasures and all it has to offer. When they finished singing, Katie swam underwater but didn't find Megan, and Megan saw the Vikings and pirates. Even though she couldn't find Megan, Katie wouldn't give up until she located her daughter. Katie swam down to the ocean floor, saw a bunch of seahorses and starfish, and sang to them while she sat down on a rock. Katie sang, "No matter where you go, I'll be with you." Then Katie petted one of the seahorses and kissed it.

Once Megan found the Vikings and pirates, she saw another pirate ship approaching and swam over to it. Then Megan peered in the porthole and saw a pirate named Pirate Captain Adam on board. Then Captain Adam threw a dart at a picture of Captain Joseph. Megan whispered, "He must be his brother." Captain Adam took out his telescope and saw Captain Joseph's ship ahead. Captain Adam said, "Pirates ahead. Load the cannons." Then Captain Adam's master gunners fired a cannonball at Captain Joseph's boat and took out his mass. Then Captain Adam's pirates swung aboard Captain Joseph's ship on ropes and sword-fought his crew. Captain Joseph said, "Shiver me, timbers. We're under attack."

Captain Joseph watched his crew fight Captain Adam's crew, but he broke it by whistling to them. Captain Joseph said, "We don't have time for this. Leave my ship, or I'll make you walk the plank." Then Captain Joseph's master gunners fired a cannonball at Captain Adam's ship and smashed a hole in the side of his boat. Captain Adam said, "So that's how you want to play it." Captain Adam fired a cannonball at Captain Joseph's ship and shot a hole through the deck. Then Captain Joseph kept firing cannonballs at Captain Adam's boat, which started filling with water and sinking. Captain Adam yelled, "Abandon ship!" Captain Joseph looked at Captain Adam and said, "Where do you think you're going?" Captain Adam stopped and glanced at Captain Joseph while his ship sank. Captain Joseph pointed at Captain Adam and said, "You're a pirate captain. And a good captain always goes down with his ship." Captain Adam's crew got into one of the lifeboats, released the cable, and rowed off to the shore while Captain Adam went down with his ship.

Before Captain Adam's ship sank, Captain Joseph's crew quickly climbed aboard Captain Adam's boat and stole his treasure. Then Captain Joseph's troop returned to their ship with Captain Adam's treasure. Aaron, the bosun, then fixed the holes in their boat, and Captain Joseph sailed them back to shore. Captain Joseph said, "Great job, Maties. Now throw the treasure below deck and raise the sails." First Mate Jeremy and Second Mate Noah threw their treasure below deck with all their other loot and locked it all up. First Mate Jeremy said, "Captain, don't you think we have enough loot now?" Captain Joseph stated, "When you're a pirate, you can never have enough treasure." Once Captain Adam went down with his ship, he swam to the nearest island and stayed there until he could figure out a way off it.
