Chapter 8

Chapter 8

The agents dropped them off at the Headquarters.

As Jake and Han Xiao approached the imposing facade of the Division 13 headquarters, they were met by the stern figure of Feng Jun, waiting for them with a no-nonsense expression. "Ah, the welcoming committee," Jake quipped, flashing Feng Jun a cocky grin. "Hope you're ready for some top-notch entertainment."Feng Jun's gaze hardened as he leveled a warning look at Jake. "Listen up, knuckle head," he retorted, his voice firm. "We don't tolerate any nonsense around here. So, I suggest you keep your antics in check when we're around higher-ups."Jake raised an eyebrow, his smirk never wavering. "Oh, come on, Feng Jun," he replied, his tone teasing. "Where's the fun in that? Besides, who doesn't love a little bit of chaos now and then?"Ignoring Jake's jest, Feng Jun motioned for them to follow him inside the headquarters, his posture rigid with authority. As they entered the covert-ops department, Han Xiao's familiar presence eased the tension in the air, his calm demeanor a stark contrast to Jake's irreverent energy.

As Feng Jun led Jake into the meeting room, the atmosphere was immediately charged with a mix of anticipation and curiosity. Sitting around the table were the three other members of the squad: Li Ya Lin, Lambert, and Li Yao. Li Ya Lin's energetic presence was palpable as she bounced in her seat, her enthusiasm practically radiating off her. Lambert, in stark contrast, sat with a calm demeanor, his gaze steady and focused. Li Yao, the hacker of the group, seemed to shrink into himself, visibly intimidated by Li Ya Lin's exuberance.

"Team, allow me to introduce our newest member," Feng Jun began, gesturing towards Jake. "This is Jake, and he'll be joining us as part of the squad from now on."

Jake flashed a roguish grin, sizing up his new teammates with a playful twinkle in his eye. "Hey there, squad mates," he greeted with a casual wave.

"Hey, why are you wearing a mask too, is your identity classified too.Just like Han Xiao over here. Wait a minute are you a member of Germinal too." Li Ya Lin asked joining all the dots.

"Yes I'm. I used to be his superior" Jake said while pointing at Han Xiao.

Han Xiao just shook his head while sighing.

"I'm looking forward to completing a lot of missions with you." Jake said.

Lambert regarded Jake with a measured expression, his calm demeanor unwavering. "Welcome to the team," he said simply, his voice steady and composed.

Li Yao, on the other hand, seemed to shrink even further into his seat, casting nervous glances at Li Ya Lin. "Um, h-hi," he stammered, his voice barely above a whisper. "I-I'm Li Yao. Nice to meet you."

Jake grinned at Li Yao's nervousness, sensing an opportunity for some light-hearted banter. "Relax, Li Yao, I promise I don't bite," he reassured with a wink. "Unless you're into that sort of thing, of course."

Feng Jun cleared his throat, bringing the attention back to the matter at hand. "Now that we're all acquainted, let's get down to business, your team is currently on standby so everyone back to their assigned duty."

As Han Xiao disappeared into his workshop, leaving Jake alone in the meeting room, a sense of restlessness gnawed at him. With nothing but idle time on his hands, Jake couldn't shake the feeling of being left out. "Well, this is just dandy," he muttered to himself, rolling his eyes dramatically. "Guess I'll just have to entertain myself then."With a mischievous grin, Jake decided to take matters into his own hands and go on a little adventure of his own. After all, what harm could a little exploration do? As he wandered the halls of the headquarters, Jake couldn't help but marvel at the intricate architecture and high-tech facilities surrounding him."Talk about fancy digs," he quipped to himself, his voice echoing down the empty corridors.

"I feel like I'm in Tony Stark's office or...the Avengers tower" Jake said out loud.

As Jake roamed the base, he stumbled upon Di su su, a member of another squad within the organization. With his typical flair for mischief, Jake couldn't resist the urge to strike up a conversation. "Well, hello there, gorgeous," he greeted with a smirk, leaning casually against the nearest wall. "What's a fine specimen like yourself doing in these dreary halls?"

Di su su eyed Jake curiously, her interest piqued by his mysterious demeanor. "And who might you be?" she inquired, her tone laced with curiosity. "I don't think I've seen you around here before."

Jake flashed her a roguish grin, enjoying the intrigue he was sparking. "Ah, I'm the new kid on the block," he replied casually, waving a hand dismissively. "Just joined the covert-ops squad. You know, saving the world and all that jazz."

Di su su's interest was immediately piqued, but her attention quickly turned to Jake's masked face. "Why the mask?" she pressed, her gaze narrowing with suspicion.

Jake chuckled, his eyes twinkling with mischief behind his mask. "Ah, the million-dollar question," he quipped, dodging her inquiry with practiced ease. "Let's just say I like to keep a little mystery about myself. Adds to the allure, don't you think?"

But Di su su was undeterred, her determination shining in her eyes as she made a bold move to unmask Jake. Quick as a flash, Jake maneuvered behind her, catching her off guard and subduing her with playful ease. With a cheeky grin, he delivered a light smack to her bubble butt, causing her to blush furiously.

"Ooh, feisty one, aren't you?" Jake teased, his laughter echoing through the corridor. But before Di su su could retaliate, Jake effortlessly slipped out of her grasp, leaving her flustered and frustrated. "Looks like you'll have to work on your moves, sweetheart," he taunted, flashing her a cocky grin. "But hey, there's always next time." And with a playful wink, he sauntered off down the hallway, leaving Di su su to nurse her wounded pride.

I hope everybody enjoyed it.....
