Aftermath of War

With the Baron joining in, the capital cities soon folded. While the formation of each capital city could hold against a group of Genesis Source experts, standing against a Genesis Spring expert is a tall order, even for the formation of Esel Barony.

The Defensive Formation of each capital was taken down as the Baron forced the surrender of the Noble families rulling them, ending their rules and conquering the three baronies.

Signaling to the region that Mariz Barony had won the war.

Naturally, there are aftermath of such war. Namely, the dissatisfied Krin Kingdom, the kingdom the three Baronies are vassal off, trying to regain their territory.

However, the Birak Kingdom intervine, sending experts of their own and ensuring the territory remain in the hand of Mariz Barony.

A skirmish between experts of peak of Genesis Grand Realm occured for a few days before both side withdraw.

The day after the skirmish, the force of Krin Kingdom pulled their elites from the new border of Mariz Barony, essentially giving up on the territory of their three former vassal kingdom.

Right now though, the Baron of Mariz had to deal with experts of Birak Kingdom.

Surprisingly, they did not push for anything, just reminding the Baron of the fief they have to pay. The upside is the the Barony of Mariz is no longer, replaced with the County of Mariz, a rise in both status and political strength for the former Baron.

Of course, the reason why the Birak Kingdom did not demand anything is because the low-level and low concentration of resources in the area, making it not worth the effort of the Kingdom to obtain it.

It is better to just reward the vassal nation under them who manage to win the territory on their own, while receiving more tributes, which is win in the Kingdom's book.

As for Mariz County, they also gained advantage aside from their new titles. While the title change may seem insignificant to those who don't knew, the one who knew knows it means improvement to the nation itself.

As a County, they will receive some benefits from the Kingdom they are under. While most vassal nations decided to be vassalage to receive protection from a more powerful nation, some decided to do so due to the rewards they can get.

For example, in Birak Kingdom, every decades, the rulers of the vassal nation, nobles in the eyes of the Kingdom can choose any rewards they wanted, but the scale and quality of the rewards depend on their status.

As a Baron, the former of Baron of Mariz is rather low in the nobility scale, receiving rewards that consider to be among the lowest one could receive.

Of course, when the rewards may not seem like much to the Kingdom, for a ruler of a small nation like him, it is more than he could hope to gain in the decade.

Now his title is now of a Count, the rewards he can gain also increases, making him glad he chose to attack the other three Baronies, instead of playing it safe.

Of course, there are downside, namely the size of the territory he need to govern just get a lot bigger, possible uprising by those loyals to their former rulers, not to mention ensuring the local branch of the Inter-realm Organization placcated at not cause troubles, just to name the few troubles he would face in the near future.

For now though, he basked in his success and rewards his subordinates who did well on the war while offering compensation for family of those who lost their life in the war.

For his subordinates, they receive a full award ceremony as well as a festival to congratulate them for their success and efforts in the war.

As for the Great Families, they received a portion of the spoil of wars, along with the right to develop parts of the newly conquered land.

As for the one who help the most but had remained unknown, they receive resources, and something else.

"I don't want to sound rude, My Lord. I'm happy for the rewards, I truly do," Ryker then took a deep breath.

"Why do you have to give a me slave as well? Not to mention, a female slave," he nearly shouted but restrained himself from doing so, though he was still annoyed at receiving a slave, not to mention, said slave former status.

"You do realise, that many people would give up all their wealth just to obtain your newest slave?" the Count of Mariz pointed, causing Ryker tol let a deep breath to calm himself.

"Yes, I know but I already happy with my group of lovers, who already working in bringing the next member of my harem,".he replied without lying.

Currently, Ina is leading the charge, trying to get Shuri to join in and from the looks of thing, it is heading in the direction she wanted, with even the white-haited woman's father starting to agree to the proposition.

The newly made Count tried to suppress a smirk. He already knew that Elder Hal had agreed to marrying his only granddaughter to the young man in front of him since he brought her back alive from the Secret Realm, while aiding her in receiving the opportunities during the trial.

The only thing preventing the marriage is the said granddaughter's father himself, but from what he heard, he was slowly being swayed to agreeing.

"In that case, consider this as a help in making your harem bigger," Ryker did not know whether the man is joking or not at this point. The only thing he can do is sigh in defeat.

"Fine, but she needs to remember, she is no longer the only child of the Baron of Esel," he said sternly, eying the new light blue-haired slave, the sole child and sole survivor of the Esel Noble Family.

"Of course. This is the fate of any Noble Family if the are captured by their enemies, either enslavement, or execution, no in between," Ryker nodded, having read about the custom as well as having it told to him by Elder Hal.

The treatment of captured soldiers, Great Families, and Noble Familes differ. The treatment of the soldiers depends on their usefulness as well as their strength, plus their loyalty. Some will be executed, some will be turned to slave while some even get offer a chance to join the military of the nation that captured them.

As for the Great Families, they have certain influence, making it not worthwhile killing them. The only reason to kill them is when the join in the fight.

When members of a Great Families are captured, they often ransomed at high prices. As for if the entire Great Family get captured, they will receive the ultimatum; join or die.

As for the Noble Family, they are the exact opposite. They just have to many influence and could potentially be seen as a figure by the people of the captured nation, making it harder to subdue and subjugate the said nation.

So, the leader of the nation are often killed, while his family will receive the same treatment or be taken in as slaves, with no in between.
