"Diego…"

I walked past Yasmin, throwing my adventurer's satchel over my shoulder and putting on my magic gloves as I rushed towards the castle. I aggressively bumped the shoulder of one of the guards I'd met at the gate, my emotions too high to give a shit about playing at being forgiving even though the man apologized after they finally fucking believed I was who I said I was.

The sun was rising and the adventurers would've been meeting soon. They wasted too much of my fucking time.

"Oi!" Yasmin yelled as she caught up to me, pulling me back by my shoulder and making me stop in my tracks. "No hello? No 'it's been a long time'? Not even a fucking excuse for not even sending a damned letter for the past two years?"

"Yaz, I do not have fucking time for this." Any other time, I would've felt bad for snapping the much older woman that had been my mentor for a while when I was a teenager. This wasn't the time.
