True Tale of Peverell Brothers

June 1994

4 Privet Drive

Harry with a pop arrived in his attic turned room.

"Thank you so much Dobby for helping me," said Harry.

Dobby bounced in excitement, "No need to thanks. It bes my great pleasure to serve the great Harry Potter sir."

"I will call you back later Dobby," Harry dismissed Dobby and with a pop he was gone.

Harry then took out the shrunken cube of the books and as the shopkeeper had instructed him, he tapped on the front side of the cube and in a swirl the cube enlarged and a small mountain of book stood in front of Harry.

Without wasting any time Harry took the fairy-tale book The Tales of Beedle the Bard and started to go through it. Finally, after going through different stories, he found the story of the three brothers.

Harry was amazed and stupefied at the same time. He did not even know whether to believe the tale or not as it was definitely a bed time story for children. Also, the tale mentioned no name but Harry was sure these three brothers were none other than Antioch, Cadmus and Ignotus, which was also confirmed by the shopkeeper.

Though the man in the shop had told Harry that he may found books related to them in the Knockturn Alley, Harry did not want to go there. The place was dangerous and Harry knew well enough that he was not capable of protecting himself even if magic was overflowing in his body. He was also not aware where to actually search for the books.

He decided to go back to his mindscape and hear their stories from the three brothers and get his answers quick.

Like the previous time Harry sat cross-legged, closed his eyes and concentrated on his previous feeling. This time he was drawn in his mindscape in moments.

His mindscape was vastly different this time. The dark and gloominess of the place was gone. Instead, the place was filled with a blue coloured mist and things have gotten much brighter. Also, the mountains and forest which was barely visible previous time was now clear. But the mountains and forest were odd. The shapes of mountains were strange and there were abrupt joints and cracks on these mountains and same was the case with the forests. It appeared that these things had been broken into pieces and juggled.

"Wondering why is there such a change in your mindscape," came the voice of Antioch.

Harry turned to face the three brothers.

"You got your binding removed," stated Ignotus.

Harry nodded in agreement.

"Now we must deal with things in a systematic manner. Firstly, we will begin with our story and why were you chosen to be our heir. Secondly, we will tell you about your mindscape and its changes, though you will receive it knowledge in our inheritance and finally, we will talk about your second unique condition that we had mentioned," said Cadmus.

"So found anything about us," asked Ignotus.

"I found a story about the three of you but I am not sure it is true since it was a part of fairy-tale book," replied Harry.

"It seems that we have been deleted from history," sighed Antioch. "Tell us the story," he added further.

With this Harry recited the complete story of the three brothers and as he went through the story, they stared at Harry in bewilderment and the moment Harry finished his story they burst out laughing.

Harry was unsure of what to do. It took few minutes for the brothers to calm down.

"Not only we have been deleted from history but also turned into arrogant fools. At least Ignotus was portrayed to be wise," laughed Cadmus.

"Is the story true or false?" Questioned Harry.

"I had the elder wand boy, Cadmus had the resurrection stone and the death cloak belonged to Ignotus but the depiction is totally wrong," said Antioch.

"We will not deny that we were obsessed with power but it was because we had the talent for it. We were the most powerful of wizards to walk on earth," said Cadmus.

"Were they gifted to you by death?" Questioned Harry.

"No, my boy. We were powerful, extremely powerful. With time our arsenal of spells grew and so our interest in intrigues of magic. We studied runes, arithmancy, magical artifacts, wand lore and everything related to magic. With all our acquired knowledge we three created three most powerful artifact known in the world. I crafted a wand made of elder tree with Thestral hair at its core. A wand so much powerful that no other could stood against its true might. The wand turned out to be special. The elder wand as it was called turned out to be very close to death because of the Thestral hair. Thestral hair as a core in wands are believed to be unstable but they are the creature closest to death," said Antioch.

Cadmus took over, "I created a stone, the resurrection stone. No, I did not create it call upon soul of dead people. My purpose to create the stone was for healing purposes. There are certain times when we are so much physically injured that our body is not able to hold the soul any longer and the soul have to leave the body and go through the veil of death. I created the stone to provide an anchor to such souls till their body recovers to get back to its physical condition to hold the soul."

"Additionally, I used many intricate materials and expensive elixirs to craft the stone. This gave the stone another magical property which was to strengthen and enhance the body of the wearer of the stone. Even the magical reserves of the said person was affected in positive manner" Cadmus added further.

Harry was now completely intrigued and interested in the story and was waiting for the youngest of the three brothers, Ignotus, to finish his story.
