Three women dressed as maids were busy in a brightly lit, luxurious room when, all of a sudden, a man bellowed.

"Report!" The loud voice rang, startling the maids, and a woman sitting on a stool, admiring her reflection.

Her brows knit together. "Go check." She waved a hand at one of the maids.

"Yes, Miss," the maid said.

After a short while, she returned with a sealed scroll. Only those who were extremely secretive and feared something happening to them midway would use letters.

The woman opened the scroll and scanned it. "Lu Yan is crippled!" 

"What?!" The maid beside her covered her mouth. She was the medium through which her mistress communicated with Lu Yan. 

She knew how her madam had dealt with those who were potential threats to her son, so hearing that Lu Yan, a powerful immortal, had been crippled only meant one thing.
