Chapter 14

The demons had no place to stay, or clothes to change into. Hansel felt his pocket draining rapidly. He began thinking about how to sustain four demons, one hybrid, and his little brother.

"Are you sure you can not go back to your home?" Hansel asked for the umpteenth time. Nathan had just revealed he could travel freely between the two worlds.

"Our heads would be hung on the gates of the Demon Realm to show our failure," Lilith said with a blank stare.

"Since when did they start doing that?" Hansel said frowning.

"Since when did you start caring?" Nathan replied.

"Shouldn't you be going home?" Hansel retorted.

Nathan doesn't reply to Hansel's question which worries him. Shouldn't his parents be worried about his wellbeing? He's dating a twenty-one-year-old adult male, shouldn't they be heads over heels worried about this?

Nathan felt Hansel's sudden worry and he felt jealous believing Hansel was being worried about the wellbeing of the demons.

Jamie was sitting on the ground, talking to Minos. "So are there legends of my older brother?" Jamie said in amazement, he was excited to learn more about Hansel's days as the Demon General.

Minos was confused as to why this human was uncomfortable and why this human was talking to him. But he's willing to talk about his idol. "Of course," he said proudly. "My favorite will always be how he defeated an army of ten thousand men just by unsheathing his sword."

Jamie's eyes sparkled. "Woah," he said like a child discovering the beautiful wonders of the world.

Hansel looked over at Jamie's side and was worried because a literal fire demon was talking to him and he could get badly hurt. But he can't just tell Jamie to stop talking to Minos because he doesn't trust him... To be honest, he doesn't trust anyone here with Jamie, but still.

He saw Jamie's look of curiosity and amazement as Minos spoke and smiled softly.

Everyone looked at Hansel who was looking at Minos and Jamie talk. 'Why is Minos talking to that human?' Killmonger thought in irritation. He was upset, first learning that their future was a half-breed, and now his companion is being all comfortable with a human.

Beel nudged him. "Behave yourself," he said.

"Tch."

Later that night, When Jamie went to sleep, Hansel locked the door to his room to keep Nathan out and told him to return home.

Demons don't need to sleep, so Lility, Minos, Killmonger, and Beel are sitting on the ground in a circle. "We should just return home," Killmonger said. "Staying here any longer is a waste of time," he said angrily.

"Aww... But I don't want to go back," Minos whined.

"Shut up," Killmonger growled, "you've grown too attached to a feeble human."

Minos pouted, his tail waving around slowly. "We would be killed if we don't bring him back," Lilith said firmly.

"But he's a half-human, the race we've sworn to destroy!" Killmonger said raising his voice slightly.

Nathan went to the living with a feeling of defeat. He heard what Killmonger said and he sat down quietly. The four demons became silent. It was quiet for a while. "It seems the demon e race hasn't changed," Nathan said calmly.

"Why are you, the God Killer, here?" Beel said lightly.

"Don't I have a choice in where I get reincarnated?" Nathan replied sarcastically. He looked fairly serious as well. "It is irritating with how he's decided to take care of you," he said crossing his legs. "I could have killed you all by now just for your mission."

His possessive side was rising. They want to take away his person. 'Unacceptable.' He clenched his fists, and he then unclenched his fists. But he can't do anything that would make Hansel lose his little trust in him. "But you must be blind if you believe he's half-human," he said.

"It doesn't matter he's still half-breed," Killmonger said.

Nathan's eyes turned to gold in anger, but he controlled himself smiling. "Then how about I send just you back home?" he said. "So you can tell your clan leaders the news."

The next day...

Hansel came out of his room the next day, he knew of there was a commotion yesterday, but he didn't come out of his room because Nathan had commanded him to stay inside the room with the familiar mark.

It infuriates him, but he obeys. The consequences of denying the commands of the master of the familiar mark are too dire for him to risk.

He saw three out of four demons. He was incredibly confused. "Where's the big guy?" he asked.

The demons turned to him, almost shaken up, but they calmed down almost immediately.

Last night... Killmonger was incredibly dissatisfied with Hansel, so he took Nathan's offer to be sent back to the Abyssal Realm.

Nathan had a dark look on his face. "Does anyone else want to return home?" he asked standing and cracking his knuckles.

The three other demons looked at each other. "We're going to stay," Beel said.

"We've come for a mission and we're going to complete it," Lilith said firmly and Killlmonger scoffed when Minos nodded in agreement.

"Just send me back home," Killmonger said to Nathan.

Nathan smiled nodding and said, "Stand away from him."

The demons got up from the ground and walked away from Killmonger. A magic circle appeared beneath him.

Lilith looked at the runes in the magic circle and recognized it. "Get away from the circle!" she exclaimed but it was too late. Killmonger was diced up, his head was left intact though.

The demons were frightened by this. They had trusted Nathan blindly.

Nathan stared at him coldly. Killmonger was still very alive as long as he was still in this magic circle. "I wish I had cut your tongue first," he said, as he walked towards. "You see, the Demon General is currently too softhearted to put you in your place," he said. "Which is unfortunate in moments like this."

"This is a warning to the rest of you," Nathan said threateningly. "Dare to disrespect him again then you will not see the next day."

"You tricked him!" Minos said angrily, his flames sparking up in anger.

"Tricked you?" Nathan said acting confused. "I will be returning him to the Abyssal Realm as promised," he said. "I didn't promise that I'd return him alive. Did I?"

'He's a monster under that human skin.'

"Where's the tall muscular one?" Hansel asked.

"He, uh, took the boy's offer to return to the Abyssal Realm," Beel replied calmly and the others nodded hurriedly.

"Okay," Hansel replied. "Has Jamie come out?" he asked.

"Yes," Minos replied. "He says he's got to go to a place called a school?" he said in confusion.

"Right," Hansel replied sounding relieved. "I'm going to try to see if I can get a day off from work so I can help you adjust here because you look like cosplayers and without a channel or convention nearby, you look like weirdos."

He takes out his phone and sees a message from his boss. 'You don't have to come to work today... You're fired.'

'And I just got fired through a text,' Hansel thought angrily. 'Oh well,' he thought sighing. He snapped his fingers and the protective shield above the grocery store, which removed any ill intentions from the store to be canceled out. 'I hope the place burns down.'

The anger radiating from Hansel caught the attention of his parents. "Are you alright?" his mom asked.

Hansel pinched the bridge of his nose. "I'm fine, just lost my job, though."

Both his parents hugged him and comforted him with sweet, gentle words, telling him it would be alright. Golden lights surrounded them.

The demons felt weirded out seeing this public display of affection. Well, it's not so public they are in his home invading his privacy, but still.

It's not something they are used to as affection is very rare in the Abyssal Realm.

'It seems I have to earn money some other way,' he thought frowning. Because these demons plus his little brother, would need to rent a larger apartment, groceries are expensive and he would need to find a different way to earn money.

In the Abyssal Realm...

The Demon Clan of Depravity received the worst scene they'd ever seen. A little trash bag with a letter and a little pink bow was placed in front of their leader's house.

The leader opened the letter.

The letter said:

If you want to send a representative to bring back a half-breed as your king, send a better one.

With Very Little Respect for the Depravity Clan,

--God Killer.

A wave of fear filled the leader of the Depravity Clan. The God Killer. How did Killmonger run into this monster? "Open the bag," he ordered and his worst fears came true.

Killmonger's head was in it alongside his chopped body parts. The letter then changed.

Send this as a warning to the other clan leaders to hope that their representatives don't do anything to piss me off.

--God Killer.
