Jamie decided to go pick up Hansel from his workplace. It's four-thirty, and he will soon be done with his shift, so why not pick him up and get some takeaway?
While walking, he had a feeling that he was in danger. He continued walking faster. He never forgets one of his brother's first lessons to him. "If you have a feeling danger is near, run as fast as you can back home or to me, whichever is closer."
Well, Hansel is closer, so he begins walking very quickly. The faster he gets to the grocery store, the safer he's going to be.
He gets to the parking lot of the grocery store when the five demons appear in front of him. "What the--" he was about to say when he was grabbed by the collar and raised up.
"Is this him?" Killmonger said shaking Jamie around.
Varrine was already pale from being overly drained, she was on the heaving. "He's here," she said.
"Let's just kill him," Lilith said in disappointment.
"Huh!" Jamie said in surprise, he didn't struggle though, he had this false sense of reassurance that he wouldn't die. His brother would sense his danger. 'I'm too young to die!' he thought scared for his life, but he didn't do anything.
He felt that overwhelming pressure from his brother and before he knew it he was falling, but he found himself in Hansel's arms. "Are you okay?" Hansel asked worriedly. He dropped him to his feet and checked his body for any bruises or signs of injuries.
Jamie realized that the demons were behind them. He was expecting them to attack but they all bowed down instead.
"My Lord," they all said at the same time. The demons no longer needed to test Hansel. He may look human but he has the aura of a powerful demon. Even more powerful than their masters. "We've been asked to bring you back to the Demon Realm to become our king," Beel said.
Hansel raised his hand and his sword floated up into the air and he grabbed it. 'Thank goodness, I thought they were among those that want to kill me,' he thought feeling relieved. He knew Nathan was watching from a distance, time was frozen
But that strong dark magic presence. Where did it come from? He then heard loud coughing from Varrine who was bowing and saw her fall unconscious.
Hansel walked towards them calmly. The demons believed he was coming to accept, but he walked towards Varrine and picked her up.
He held his breath. 'She's--' he thought quietly. "Get up," he said to the demons. "Jamie, come on," he called his brother.
Jamie didn't want to move because he was afraid. These demons could have killed him, so it is weird that Hansel isn't saying anything.
Hansel saw his brother's reluctance and he stepped forward. "Come on," he said smiling. Jamie pointed glanced at the demons but reluctantly stepped forward.
'This human.' all of the demons thought at the same time, they were obviously dissatisfied, but they couldn't say or do anything. It might anger their lord. He is a human, he must have relations with this other human.
A magic circle appears underneath them and Jamie's eyes brightened in amazement with them teleporting to their home.
"That was so cool!" Jamie said when he finally wrapped his mind around things.
Hansel went ahead to drop Varrine on the couch and touched her forehead. 'Why is he concerned about the half-breed?' Lilith thought frowning.
The other demons were not interested in Hansel's behavior towards Varrine, instead they were judging the small apartment. "This is the infamous Demon General abode?" Minos said.
"It's so small," Killmonger said having to bend not to hit the ceiling.
'There are two ghosts at the corner of the room,' Beel thought looking at Hansel's parents. He then turned to Jamie, the ghost does bear some resemblance to Jamie. He then began to look at Jamie intensely.
'Why's he looking at me?' Jamie thought uncomfortably.
Hansel began healing Varrine, slowly restoring her mana pool. 'I never thought I would see the descendant of Jezebel,' he thought. 'And half human as well... Must be difficult for her to live here,' he thought.
He stood up and faced the demons. "State your business for being here," he said to them in a strict and commanding tone.
"We've been asked to bring you back to the Demon Realm to rule," Lilith said, stepping forward. "You were one of the greatest generals in demon history--"
"Then go and find the reincarnation of the other demon generals," Hansel said. "I'm not becoming Demon King."
"--As well as one of the children of the Demon King," Lilith said once Hansel had finished talking. "The most competent one."
Hansel couldn't argue with that. The other children were prideful in nature, never did they once held a weapon, and they all had naturally large mana pools, but most of them were incompetent, and those that weren't incompetent were dead. They all died in battle.
"Really?" Hansel said, placing his hands in his pockets. Many of the Demon King's children were illegitimate, and demons don't care about one's legitimacy, but there's one thing that they would be bothered about. "I'm half demon," he said confidently.
And watched as each of the demons' faces dropped. "What?" Beel said. How can one of the most powerful and feared generals in history be half demon? "But that's impossible," Minos said.
"One of the greatest demon generals in history is a hybrid," Hansel said almost sounding sarcastic. "Funny too, because the demon race knew my race and who I was," he said walking towards the door. "It was difficult for them to accept a half-breed."
He then opened the door, almost angry. "Ringing the doorbell wouldn't kill you, you know?" he said in annoyance.
Nathan was at the door. His presence wasn't noticed at all by the other demons, and this either meant he was really strong or very weak.
Then all of a sudden a sudden burst of aura was felt, causing the demons to fall to their knees almost immediately in fear and Jamie was immediately knocked unconscious. It was like being hit with a bomb.
Hansel immediately went to tend to Jamie glaring at Nathan quietly. "My apologies," Nathan apologized unapologetically.
'What is this aura?' Killmonger thought feeling the fear deep in his bones.
'It felt like being in the presence of a bloodthirsty God,' Lilith thought, her blood turning cold.
'Who is this guy?' Minos thought, his flames had distinguished once he felt that presence.
'It feels too powerful for him to be a human,' Beel thought. He looked up to see cold and hardened golden eyes. "God Killer," he mutters under his breath, but no one hears him Hansel mumbles dissatisfied by Nathan knocking Jamie unconscious with his aura.
He checked up on Jamie and began cursing under his breath. He carried Jamie and said to Nathan coldly, "Just sit down no killing, bloodshed, or mental torture." He then glanced at Nathan with red eyes. "And. Do. Not. Follow. Me."
Nathan was about to follow him but froze, his aura must've hurt Jamie really bad and Hansel was pissed at him, so he sat down, looking like a kicked puppy.
Hansel dropped Jamie on his bed. Nathan didn't do much, but exposing that much aura to an ordinary human can kill them. Jamie was simply knocked unconscious which is a relief.
Nathan was peeking in through the unclosed door. Hansel knew he was there. "I thought I told you not to follow me," he said, then turned around to see Nathan looking sad.
"I'm sorry," Nathan apologized pitifully.
Hansel was immediately weirded out. "What are you doing?" he said in confusion.
"Apologizing?" Nathan replied.
"It's not me you should be apologizing to," Hansel said crossing his arms.
Then Nathan casually creates a magic circle above Jamie's head walking to him as he wakes up bending down. "Are you alright?" he asked.
Jamie was rubbing his head. "That felt like being hit with a speeding truck," he said.
"Sorry about that," Nathan said scratching the back of his head. "I forgot you were a normal human being."
"That was so cool though," Jamie said in amazement. "It's even more powerful than Hansel's own," he said praising Nathan. "You're so cool!"
Hansel's mouth opened agape in jealousy. "He isn't at his fullest strength," Nathan said defending Hansel.
"True," Hansel said agreeing with Nathan, completely forgetting that even at his fullest strength, he's still weaker than Nathan, but Jamie remembers that, but doesn't say anything.
"So who is watching the demons in the living room?" Jamie asked.
Hansel immediately ran out of the room and saw the demons sitting on the ground obediently. He was relieved internally. 'Thank goodness.'
They are still where he left them. He didn't notice the tiny magic circle on their foreheads that froze them in place, basically turning them into statues.
Nathan quietly released them standing behind Hansel looking at the demons. He knows of their goal and is severely against it if Hansel becomes Demon King then they may be forced to be enemies once more.
