Chapter 12

Annabelle felt weird now facing Jamie who was smiling brightly at her. "I apologize for what happened yesterday," she said.

"It's fine, Hansel and I got closer because of what happened yesterday," Jamie said smiling. "So can you also do magic?"

"No... I was possessed by a soul who could, but our contract was broken already," Annabelle replied.

Jamie didn't really understand, but he was disappointed. "Alright," he said.

Neil was watching them talk from outside the classroom. "Damn, he has more game than me," he said his heart becoming bitter with jealousy.

He remembers trying to talk to Annabelle and was given a dead stare. He didn't even get her name until attendance.

He took in a deep breath and gave Jamie a silent thumbs-up from the deepest part of his heart. 'He doesn't need me to get him a girlfriend anymore,' he thought.

"Who's she?"

Neil gasped in surprise and looked down to see Jamie's ex-girlfriend, Blossom. "Oh it's just you," he said in a monotone voice.

She sighed not wanting to deal with him. "You didn't answ--"

"Shh," Neil said placing his hand against his lips. "Cheating mosquitoes don't speak," he said.

"Mosquito?"

"Well, pigs are nice, rats are bearable... Mosquitoes are unbearable and need to be permanently exterminated," Neil said in a classy tone. "You should have been exterminated the night you were caught," he said in a dark tone.

Ah, yes, Neil. Nathan's younger twin brother, although he is a lot more friendly than his twin plus a womanizer. The only similarity he has with Nathan is

"Do you know who you are talking to?" Blossom said angrily.

"Uprising artist, Bloom," Neil said nonchalantly. "I know who you are," he said picking his nails. "I've been watching you for a while and trust me you can't fool me with your little disguise, whether as Blossom or as Bloom."

Blossom frowned intensely as Neil bent down and whispered in her ear. "Quit your act, the play is over... You don't have to pretend to Jamie that you still love him," he said.

Blossom pushed him back and yelled at him. "Just what do you think you are doing you creep?" she said angrily, bringing people's attention to them including the students in the classroom.

She glares at Neil as Jamie walks over to his side. "You really should stop flirting with women," Jamie said tired.

"Flirting?" Neil scoffed. "Please, you know I prefer my hol--"

Jamie covered his mouth to prevent him from saying anything inappropriate, earning him a blank look from his best friend. "We should go and sit down before the teacher comes around," he said.

Neil was dragged into class and he gave Blossom the middle finger while he was being dragged in.

She scowled at him. But Jamie didn't defend her, he just stopped Niel from saying anything inappropriate, he didn't even take a second glance at her.

'No one's ever gotten over me that quick,' she thought angrily. 'He must've been cheating as well.'

Niel sat down smiling like he didn't know anything. "What?" he asked when he saw Jamie's wary look.

"I told you not to give to cause any trouble," Jamie said.

"And I didn't... She came to me with her trouble and I was merely being hospitable," he said. "But let's put that aside, you never told me you were seeing another beautiful lady," he said wiggling his eyebrows.

Annabelle almost panics, until Jamie gives Niel a disapproving look. "We're just friends," he said calmly and Annabelle nodded in agreement, despite feeling hurt.

Niel shrugged. "So does this mean I can take the lovely lady on a date... I can rock your world in more ways than one," he said smirking.

Jamie smacks the back of his head. "Stop being such a creep, it's annoying," he said.

"Don't worry," Niel said patting Jamie's hand like he was coaxing him. "You'll always be my favorite person aside from my parents," he said.

Jamie drew his hand back. "Buy me lunch then I shall forgive your sins," he said.

"Okay, my love," Neil said and both he and Jamie gagged.

"What was that?" Jamie asked laughing.

"I was just joking, but you went along with it," Neil said punching his arm.

Annabelle looks at them blankly. This feels like watching herself and Mike in third person. She almost laughs but she composes herself.

Nathan who was in the next room felt a disturbance. Dark magic, it is faint, meaning it was from a far distance, but it is powerful that is certain, almost as powerful as Hansel's magic in his prime.

Hansel was about to go to work when he felt this presence and he sighed silently. With such powerful dark magic, it seems his future opponents are going to bring him a lot of trouble.

They landed in the middle of the desert. The scorching heat did not affect them one bit.

"This place is crawling with cockroaches," one of the demons said. There were three male and two female demons. The first male, Killmonger, is a muscular seven-foot-tall demon with black skin, tusks, goat legs bronze eyes, white hair, and bronze markings appearing on his body.

The second male, Minos, is a smaller four-foot-nine demon with a slim stature, ashy green skin, and flaming green hair. A tail swinging around in excitement. "What if we made a huge sacrifice to please our lord?" he said.

"He's going to be human," the third male, Beel, in the group said. He has incredibly pale skin with a small horn sticking out of his forehead, he is average in height and is dressed fairly elegantly. "He's going to be weaker and more human."

"Fortunately, we were sent to test his strength," the first female demon, Lilith said. She is incredibly beautiful with dark grey skin, and three blue gems on her forehead, she is dressed very modestly and with dark blue hair in a pixie cut.

"Those weren't the instructions I was given," the second female, Verrina, said, she looked like a preteen, with normal skin, pointy ears, and normal skin. Her hair was black, reaching the back of her leg with blue eyes. She also has a pair of horns and a tail.

She was glared at by the other demons. She shrunk back slightly. "My apologies," she said

"Your clan's people may be cautious, but the Demon Realm can't afford to have a weakling as our ruler," Lilith said to her coldly.

Verrina nodded, silently bowing her head in submission.

"Let's not give the hybrid a hard time," Minos said, he looked down at her slightly. "Give her the sword to track his magic," he said.

Verrina caught the sword tossed to her and looked at the other demons who were staring at her intensely.

She wanted to sigh, her heart was filled with resentment. She was the one who brought them here and her pool is nearly drained.

But she's from the weakest clan in the Demon Realm, practically a slave for the entire demon clan.

She's the servant to the Leader of the Clan of Vengeance, one of the clans that are in support of bringing back the Demon King. She doesn't know why she was chosen to bring him back, but she is honored.

Being half-human, the race hated most by the Demon Realm, she is honored to be chosen.
