Chapter 18

Hansel doesn't go back home immediately after leaving Nathan, instead, he goes to an underground wrestling arena. He texted Jamie that he would be returning home late.

He is well familiar with the location of this arena because he used to go to the arena frequently before his parents died to blow off some steam.

The loud sound of cheering was heard and Hansel knew where to go to register to fight. A fight had just been won. "And there you have it, your champion, Jawbreaker!"

The crowd cheered loudly, and the arena shook. The wrestler, Jawbreaker, is a six-foot-five male with bulging muscles. The announcer laughed. "Is there anyone in the crowd that thinks they can beat this muscular hunk? For let's ten thousand?"

Hansel wasn't sure if he should fight, but ten thousand is a nice price. "I'll take it!" he said raising his hand.

Everyone gasped in surprise, even Jawbreaker and the announcer were surprised. Jawbreaker laughed as Hansel stepped into the ring.

"We have someone brave enough to take on the challenge!" the announcer exclaimed and the crowd cheered loudly.

Jawbreaker was amused by this. "I'd advise you to back down now kid," he said laughing lightheartedly.

"Don't plan on that, big man," Hansel said feeling a bit pissed off for being called a kid.

"Your funeral," Jawbreaker said shrugging, the crowd cheered as the announcer left the ring and the bell rang.

Everyone had the same thing on their mind. This was about to become a one-sided beatdown for Hansel, after all, Jawbreaker is well-known here to break the bones of his opponents.

Jawbreaker began first by punching Hansel straight in the face. 'Knocking him out quickly will end the night,' he thought.

Hansel was surprised by the intensity of the punch. It was strong for a normal human. Unfortunately, he doesn't like to play around and once Jawbreaker drew back his hand, he threw a punch, straight to the stomach, making Jawbreaker curl up in pain.

The pain wasn't hard enough to cause any internal injuries, but it was hard enough to make a six-five man know he was strong.

The crowd fell silent as Hansel punched Jawbreaker's face and knocked him out.

The announcer stepped into the ring. "Um, we have a winner?" he said sounding confused, with no idea of what just happened.

The crowd cheered, of course, Jawbreaker has been on top for years and it's surprising that he was beaten, which was exciting.

Hansel stood patiently staring at the owner of the ring as his money was being counted. It was nearly one a.m. and he wanted to do nothing more than go home. "Damn, I didn't recognize you when you came in," the owner said jokingly as he handed the. money to him

Hansel didn't reply collected the money and left. "You haven't changed one bit huh?"

Jawbreaker walked in as Hansel walked out. His stomach and face had huge bruises on them. "You know him boss?" he asked, hearing what the owner had said.

"Yeah, he used to fight here, he is a brutal fighter too, fortunately, you got off easy."

When Hansel left the ring location, he felt Annabelle's familiar contract was broken. He didn't care, if that is what she wanted then that's what she'll do.

He returned to his apartment and saw the demons were up playing video games with Jamie. They all stood on guard when they saw him walk in. "Welcome back, My Lord," they said at the same time as they bowed.

Hansel felt frustrated but said nothing. "Enjoying yourselves?" he asked.

"Yes," Lilith replied. "This invention is quite fascinating," she said referring to the video games.

"Right," he replied, he looked at Jamie who was happily concentrating on the game he was playing, and frowned a bit. 'Shouldn't he be asleep?' he thought. "Jamie," he called.

Jamie turned around and looked at Hansel smiling. "You're home early," he said sarcastically.

"I had stuff to do," Hansel replied, leaving to his room. "Don't stay up past two," He said. "I will know if you are awake past then."

Jamie saluted, making a serious face and Hansel smiled slightly. "Good," he said.

"It sometimes confuses me why he chooses to sleep," Beel said watching him as he left.

"Huh?" Jamie said visibly confused.

"We demons don't need sleep for most of our life," Mammon explained. "But he's human now," he said looking at Beel.

Jamie sighed. "Being a demon sounds nice," he said.

All four demons looked at him. "I can't tell if you are insulting us or not," Lilith said coldly.

"I'm not," Jamie said. "I'm just amazed by the amazing things demons can do," he said. "Super strength, magic, you don't sleep, can do a lot of things if you don't sleep."

"You humans and your thirst for power," Beel said in disdain.

"I'm not thirsty for power," Jamie replied calmly. "I'm just having wishes, is that wrong?" he asked.

"When it comes to you humans, yes," Lilith said, but Minos was quick to defend him as was Verrina.

"It begins with a simple wish then it becomes an unquenchable desire for power and it worsens each time..." Beel explained. "Humans are forever dissatisfied," he said in a low voice.

'Woah, that took a turn,' Jamie thought so he apologized. "I'm sorry," he said sincerely. "I didn't know it seemed that way," he said.

"Whatever."

"It's surprising how you were able to survive," Felix said to Annabelle once the contract had been broken.

Annabelle had gone in and out of consciousness in the span of a few hours and she didn't have the strength to do anything.

She watched exhaustedly as Felix walked up to her, holding a knife and a scroll. "I just need your blood and we can both finally get a rest," he said.

She made a little sound, but couldn't say anything. Felix bent down and picked up her hand, making a cut with the knife, and opened up the scroll with magic and placed her bloodied hand on it. "You're mostly numb, so this should be fine," he said watching as the blood got absorbed into the scroll and a magic circle formed and entered her body.

It was meant to hurt, but she was indeed numb to the pain. The dyed purple tips turned golden and her eyes opened to reveal bright golden eyes.

She got up and stretched, rolling her arms. "This body is weak," she said sounding very disappointed.

"Sorry, this was the best I could find," Felix apologized.

"Whatever," she said.

The person Felix had summoned was a demigod, a relatively young one, but quite strong. She is the daughter of the Goddess of Justice and Victory.

Why is she here? Well, she was sent here to assist in bringing down the God Killer, but she would only be getting in the way.

"I heard rumors that the Demon General was also reincarnated here," she said.

"Yes," Felix replied. She would be getting his way if he hadn't reevaluated and saw her as a catalyst. "His brother is a good friend of the owner of this body," he said.

"Is that so?" she said. "I should be receiving memories of this body right?" she asked.

"In a few minutes... What do you plan on doing?"

"Bringing the hard hand of justice to those who fail to obey its system."

"Alright."
